Please check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors regularly. It is so easy and so important. My family was saved today because we have working detectors on all levels of our home. The carbon monoxide alarm went off after we were all awake getting ready for school. The gas company responded quickly and discovered an issue with the water heater. So no hot water, but a family that is alive and healthy. I am thanking God for His grace today.

I'm so glad things turned out well. We moved into a new house and only have ours lying on top of bookcases (working but too low). Hubby is going to have that put one the top of the honey do list this weekend.

A good reminder. I have one, but it doesn't even have batteries in it right now--an easy fix! :) Glad everyone was safe.

Definitely an easy task. I'm now an outspoken advocate for testing and replacing them regularly.

I replaced all of them earlier this year, as the others were 10 years old. I followed packaging as far as one of each on every level, and smoke detectors in every bedroom. Best $100 I've spent.
