Do you usually proofread your posts carefully or just hit submit?

I am sooo picky about anything I put in writing, but lately I have been out of character and not proofreading. I find my speaking is also suffering! I am taking too many shortcuts.

I proofread, but, I still don't pick up everything.

I try to proofread, but I generally catch errors AFTER I've submitted, and don't always go back to edit.

I'm "old school"-careful (as my username suggests), so I always proof read before I submit, and I proof read after I submit. If I see errors after I've submitted a post, I always edit to correct.

I always catch the errors after I have posted. And it's usually a wrong word error. Which I don't catch in proof reading because I read it wrong too.

I think I am 1)becoming more careless and 2) have less energy to make sure I do everything right! But then I feel guilty for not being more diligent. (Like I NEED something else to feel guilty about - ha!)

I don't proofread. It I am writing about something significant I will re-read to make sure my tone and ideas are appropriate but I consider a board the same as chatting with friends. I don't proofread before I speak so I don't proofread before I post.

I proof before posting a little more than half the time. With long posts, I always do (but I still miss things), with shorter ones, almost never. I really wish there was a "how are others going to interpret this" button.

I'm not nearly as diligent as I should be, I'm generally very exacting. It depends alot on whether it's 9:00 p.m. or 3:00 a.m., if it's in the a.m., I'm apt to have some errors.

Well, the other day I mentioned that Seattle was in Oregon, so it's apparent I'm not proofreading enough!

To be honest, it depends on how tired I am. I really CAN spell, and I have a decent command of the English language. But sometimes I get sloppy.

That said, most of my errors are of the "hte" variety, not the "principal/ principle" or "losing/loosing" type.

I try to be careful when I post, but I will go back and fix errors if I see them.

Most of mine are missing or transposed letters since I type really fast.

Sometimes I'm tired, and sometimes I just don't care enough to look it over. And sometimes, like last night, I was writing after taking NyQuil . . . so things didn't look so great.
