I'd like to start every day with a math problem for students to complete while I get everything organized for the day. Can anyone recommend a resource for problem solving? I'd like a book I could just photocopy problems from every day. Thanks!

I have the Daily Word Problems book and I really like it. There is a scope and sequence in the from with standards that allows you to skip around to the topic that you are working on in Math.
I've used Math4Today and loved it during my student teaching. I'd like to use it this year but our current Saxon math is just taking so much time to go over but I think it does a good job with reviewing basic concepts. M4T is a life-saver if you have a math program that doesn't get to time, money or algorithms until the end of the year (as more and more do). I found that it helped prepare my kids for test questions and gave me time to review important concepts throughout the year. I will say that parents didn't always like it because the quiz only had 10 questions and towards the end of the year, the concepts were more towards a 4th grade level (I ST 2nd grade). By 3rd though it should be better. Oh, I miss it In terms of word problems, I have used daily word problems and liked using it as well.
Instead of buying something to do daily problem solving, why don't you just take one of your problems off you daily math work or homework. The point is that you are focusing on prob solving, not necessarily giving them more work, right? It is impowering to some students to see that they already know how to do it when it comes time to do the regular work. It takes some of the stigma away from prob solving.

Thanks for the replies! I will definitely check out those books, as well as look through the text books available. I'm still not sure exactly what resources I will have at my disposal.
