    Hello all,

I was wondering if there are any ESL teachers who can give me a run-down of a typical day. I recently interviewed for a position as an ESL teacher and it sounds like it will mostly be a pull-out model. I do not have experience being an ESL resource teacher and I am curious what it is like for others.

    Thank you.

    Hi Sara!

My job is a little unique in that I am technically a paraprofessional, but I act (at least somewhat!) as an ESL teacher. I share a classroom with another para and we have different groups of kids that come to our room each day. I work with groups of 9-12 kids and lead them in reading, writing and grammar activities. I plan my own lessons, which often include writing exercises, reading aloud and discussing, or playing games. I also work with a few kids individually, helping them with homework or specific skills their teacher would them to improve on.
This may be somewhat different than what other schools do, but hope this helps! :)
