Okay, I work in a Reading First school, and we use the Harcourt Storytown ELA program. I want to make the Daily Five part of my daily routine. Any suggestions about how to go about blending them? I have some ideas germinating, but would love to see your thoughts as well! Basically right now, I love the way they introduce the procedures, and am planning to use (at least most of) the Daily Five methods for my "center" or "station" activities - not as busywork, but as a serious rotation. Does that make any sense?????

I'm not in a reading first school and I have an older version of Harcourt Reading.

I know that my version of Harcourt for Kinder comes with a class set of little readers for each unit. If you have these they would be good for the read to self/friend for Daily 5.
