    Hi,

I am currently taking a class called Education and Society at a university. I am working on a group power point presentation on different reading programs and strategies used in schools (preferably Oregon, but not mandatory) which teachers find very useful. I suggested to my group that we should also list literacy rates in Portland Public Schools to give our class an idea of what they could be up against as, excuse the term, future teachers of America. However, I am having problems finding any information of this type. Does anyone have an idea of how to go about finding this sort of information? Or, do you have any suggestions on successful reading programs?

I appreciate your help in advance.

    Thank you,
    Stephanie

Many schools I am aware of are using the AR, accelerated reader program.
