So, where are all of you in your pregnancy and in your preparations? I am 18 weeks, which is halfway for me since they will deliver the twins at 36-37 weeks! We have a good start on the nursery, floors redone and cribs put together, but we are painting this month and having a mural painted in the middle-end of March. I am not going to go back to school after spring break because the doctor prefers multiple moms to go on light duty at 24 weeks and that isn't possible in kindergarten I will be on basic home rest, but able to go out somewhat, just not too much walking/standing or getting in & out of the car. Since I will be on home rest more or less, my showers are going to be in March and I am super excited! After the long hard struggle with infertility I am still amazed that I am really having twins now and every part of preparing for them in so incredible! ETA: It is a girl and a boy
Congrats Tasha! I am twenty one weeks and just found out that we are having a boy! We are living at my parents' house right now while we try to sell our house so we aren't doing a whole lot as far as the nursery yet. I haven't even thought about showers yet although I assume they will take place sometime in May!
Congrats to the both of you! I am 22 weeks and we found out recently that we are having a girl!!! We are beyond excited....this is our first. We are still trying to clean out our second bedroom so the nursery hasn't even been started yet....But we have bought about a dozen little outfits here and there. Everything looks good with the baby so far....now its just wait and wait some more! How are you ladies feeling? I am feeling OK except I get tired a lot more easily, but other than that nothing I can't handle.....yet
I'll be 26 weeks Thursday! Omg! 10 weeks until they are here! I'm having 2 girls (fraternal). We have the cribs, bedding, and I just got a bunch of stuff from my SIL and aunt! My shower will be in march...but towards the end which is kind of irritating...you can see my previous thread about it...lol. Bf makes fun of my appetite :-/ I'm just hungry a lot now...ugh.
Congrats to you ladies!! Such an exciting time! My husband and I plan to start trying (again) sometime this year, maybe in the next few months...so hopefully next year I will be able to experience what you all are experiencing! It makes me so happy and excited to hear/read about it now though!!
I held a 2 month old baby other day--oh they are wonderful. I really need a baby fix. I am a grandmother, so no more for me, and my oldest GS is 18 and says he is not getting married. Do any of you need a sitter?
I get tired so easily, in fact, after I wake up and get ready I feel like I could go back to bed and sleep again! The day goes pretty well at school, but I get nothing accomplished in the evenings either. Blue, I would love it if you would come watch my babies!!!!
Good Morning ladies! I am 23 weeks right now due June 11th with a little boy! We are beyond excited and are about to finish the renovation of his nursery. We put in brand new hardwood, skimmed the walls and SO is now painting and putting trim in so we're almost there! I was actually feeling a bit bummed yesterday, I can't fit into ANY old jeans. I know it's super silly but it became a depressing fit trying to wiggle on pair after pair. It may be because of my enormous appetite though! I've recently been experiencing heartburn quite often too! Other than that though I'm feeling great. Congrats to all my other momma out there!
Also I wanted to add... Have any of you decided on names yet? I think we've finalized our name after much deliberation.
Tasha~when I was pregnant and teaching, I would come home in the evenings, eat dinner, and would fall asleep on the couch by 7. Dh would then wake me up at 10 to go actually sleep in the bed.
Beautiful names ST! K1 - that is adorable. We aren't telling until they are born and I haven't decided about announcing on the forums - I think I am fairly recognizable
So I just got my 1-hour glucose test results back and my sugar levels were elevated, so I have to back for the 3-hour test later this week to make sure I don't have gestational diabetes. I am so bummed. I am not overweight and I genereally eat healthy. Have you gals ever been through this, with this pregancy or previous ones??
I don't go for my glucose test for another 6 weeks but good luck!! I did ask about it at today's appointment and she suggested that I do it before school one day because there are more false positives if it is done later in the day. (After not fasting?)
Thanks! Yeah this time I actually have to fast for 8 hours before, so I will probably do the test on the weekend. For the 1-hour test I did take it in the morning but it was about 2 hours after I ate some cereal and orange juice. I am hoping that they contributed to a false positive :-/
I had a co-worker that just did that test. Fortunatley I haven't had to take it. Beyond the fasting she said the test wasn't too bad. Just takes up lots of time. On another note, naming our son has been the most difficult part of this pregnancy. My SO and I, wait no, it's my SO can't seem to stay happy with a name. I love the names we've been choosing, but he eventually changes his mind. Good thing we have another 4 months or so to hash it out!
Crzy... when I was pg my cousin has both a girl & boy & said naming a boy is really tough because you want something cute when they are lil & something mature for when they "grow up"!!! Good Luck!!! I don't remember the sugar test being too bad either...just tasted like really sugary kool aid!!! LOL!!! I did mine when I was teaching!!! How many of you eat before you go to bed to help you stay "fuller"?!? I would eat a small bowl of oatmeal!!! LOL!!! Congrats to all of you!!!!
I am at 31 weeks now (will be 32 on Thursday) Everything has been going well physically. Emotionally it has been a roller coaster with my husband in Iraq. I have the nursery basically finished (going to order the dresser on Friday) and then I need a glider still. Any recommendations on gliders? My glucose test wasn't bad at all. The lab opened at 7:30, so I made sure to get there right at 7:30. The hardest part was sitting there bored for an hour. My numbers in everything came back phenomenal! Now it's just a waiting game....and with my husband gone, I could wait another six months or more for my baby boy, Maddox, to come out and join the world!
