I recently took the 0146 Praxis test and passed. However leading up to the test I spent way too much money on study guides that were useless and expensive. That said I did find one guide that was very helpful and one that was not.

I use a GED study guide to study for the test. It had all the areas I needed to study plus is cover briefly everything I needed to know for the test. If you are taking the test, spend the money on a GED study guide and possible a math refresher study guide.

I also paid money for the ETS guide and it was worthless for this test.

    Good luck.

I want to get highly qualified to teach 7th grade
I am confused about what I would have to take exactly?
Is it for middle school math? Is it 7-12 math?
Is it about how to teach math ? Or do I have to know high level math (higher than 7th grade) to pass it?

Your comments about studying for it were helpful, thanks.

Same situation here, but I would like to Teach elementary Education K-8 with option of teaching also math to grades 6-8 since I hold a Math degree.
My question is: what praxiss II do I take?
i want to enroll in NPTNJ and there are 2 types of licenses in NJ:
one for elementary k-8 and subject area certification. the first gives you the option of being a generalist teacher for elementary and if you hold a degree (in my case math) you can also teach grades 6-8 in that subject.
the subject area certf. only gives you the option of teaching that subject.
Praxis 0014 says Elementary k-5! is that the one I need to take or do I need to take mid school math (does this one gives me the option of being an elementary teacher as well?

Good question, Valeriana, and not one I can answer at all adequately. I think you need to talk to a real live person who does teacher licensing in New Jersey.
