When I got my scores in April, they came a couple of days after the official mailing date. Your wait should be over soon -- good luck!

Greetings Everyone! First Time Poster... I just received my score report for 0049 Middle School English Language Arts... I got 178/200... I took 0089 Middle School Social Studies in March and scored 193/200... so while I passed the Language Arts section I was somewhat disappointed in the score (I was hoping for a 180 or higher) but I definitely am not shelling out another $125 to retake a test that I exceed the Ohio pass mark by 22 points and the Maryland pass point by 18 points... Good luck to everyone else waiting for your scores!!!

How did you fare with the Praxis 2 Study Notes for the Elementary Education Content Knowledge Praxis 0014 Exam? Were they helpful for you in preparing for the exam? Your reply is greatly appreciated? Have a nice day!

I am a little concerned about my scores. How did everyone do? I just took it yesterday. I took 0012 (content area exercises) and 0011 (Curriculum, instruction, and assessment.)
I need a 313 to pass, but I did so well on Praxis I that II scares me. I had 180, 184, and 185 on each of Praxis I sections.

So that means, HPUstudent, that you've got the test-taking skills, and that's usually a good sign.

Go find your mind something better to do than worry this, please: have some chocolate, or a good time with your S.O., or whatever else works.

Oh, and have a hug on me.

Hello, me again being anal! How long does it take praxis scores to reach most people. The website says 7-10 days from mail date, but I imagine that is to allow time to reach cross country! I am in NC so, what about the east coasters? Does it take long? My hubby says it is a waste of money to call and pay $30 when the scores are on their way. I guess I see his point, but I am getting anxious. We are short on money, so even if it is not a waste to call, I really cannot afford to do it!

So you need an aggregate 313; if we distribute the points evenly across two tests, bearing in mind that Praxis II exams run on a scale of 100 to 200, that makes 156 and 157, respectively.

If you didn't find yourself feeling hideously underprepared during the testing, I'm going to guess that you are probably now worrying for nothing.

I can all but guarantee that you are right! I always do worry for nothing. My husband says I worry if there is nothing to worry about. Right now it's Praxis scores and a heart condition. After this week it will be something else. (I go to the cardiologist Thursday, but my regular doc says that it is simple and treated with meds) My worst case scenario worry wort attitude usually causes more problems than necessary. I feel really good about the multiple choice, but the constructed response worried me a little.

Thanks, for your support. My hubby is out of town and its nice to still have people to keep me in line! ;)

You've doubtless seen the email that touts chocolate as a member of all the food groups: "It's a vegetable - it's made from beans."

    Praxis II Equivilent Percentage?

    Hello,

I took Praxis 0012 and 0011 today. I need a combined score of 313 to pass for North Carolina. I understand that each test is worth 200 points, but don't understand their 100-200 point scale.

Perhaps someone has already posted this... but approximately what percentage would I need to get on the exam to pass?

    Thanks

It can't be the case that each test is not worth 200 points, in fact, not if the scoring scale begins at 100. In statistical terms, the range is highest minus lowest - for each of these tests, that's 200 - 100, so each test is worth 100 scaled points, and the pair of them are worth 200 scaled points, or (200 + 200) - (100 + 100).

If you get 2/3 of available points, I believe you will have enough.

    Longest time to score?

I was wondering what is the longest time it took anyone to receive scores? Like crunchyoyster, I'm going for my NC certification and need a combined score of 313. I took my two Praxis exams in April but have only received one score thus far. The other (0012-essay) has still not been scored according to their phone-in database and my empty mailbox. I'm supposed to start student teaching next month but am really starting to worry that I might have really messed up the exam. I'm debating if I should retake the exam before I know the score. Any thoughts?

That is indeed a very long delay in scores, especially for an exam that's been around as long as 0012 has; turnaround on established tests generally runs a month, plus or minus. It might be appropriate to start quizzing the Praxis people.

Hello. This is my first time posting. I am a former accountant, trying to get in a Career Switcher program in VA to teach middle school English and/or middle school math.

I saw that you passed the 0049 test. Would you mind sharing what you studied? I took the math test 9/18 and thought I was prepared-until I opened my test. I'm going to take the English test in Nov & want to get some recommendations.

    Thanks!!

Welcome to A to Z, rtucker23661. This thread's two years old; you may find some newer threads on this test and on other states' similar tests here on A to Z, and you might want to have a look at the thread "Elmer's English resources" as well.
