HELP!! I just took the Praxis II SS and Science subtests today and got a raw score of 31 for SS and 36 for Science with a NS for the unofficial score. Does anything think I passed??? I know it's all weighted and the test questions change so it's hard to say, but has anyone taken it recently that got similar scores and passed? Or failed? #tryingtobreathe #sswasreallyhard

So since I got a 34 on my social studies does that mean I passed?

I think it's probable, though the numbers are a bit too close to state definitively.

Are the tests the same within the testing window? So if the testing window that just passed went until November 12, does that mean everyone that took the SS test within that window took the same test? So raw scores to passing scores will be the same? Or does it work differently?

Evidence suggests that, within a given testing window, distinct versions of a subtest can and usually are given.

I was feeling pretty confident that I had passed the praxis 5004. I have taken it three times, the last time I received a 147 with a raw score of 32 (US History, Gov, Citizenship- 14, Geo.-7, and World History- 11). My friend took it and received a raw score of 32 and passed.. I took it again and received a raw score of 34 (US History-12, Geo.-9, and World History-13) Any hopes that I passed?

I was banking on that I passed since I received a 34 and my friend who passed received a 32, but looking at my previous scores I am not feeling to confident now. Thank you.

It probably means that we can congratulate you rather than commiserating with you - but please don't either ice the champagne or throw it away till you see your official score report.

    Hello everyone

A raw score of 33=159. I recently failed praxis 5005 also, all of the material that I studied was not on the test. I purchased the interactive praxis 5005 test from the praxis website after my first attempt and the questions were very similar to my 1st test. Have you retaken yours yet? If so what study material did you use and was the second test similar to your firstone? Good luck!!

This is awesome! Can you please tell me what you used to study? I will be taking these two next week. Science I missed by 2 points and SS I was way off. I need to focus on SS but am so lost on what to look at.

Hi. I took Praxis 5004 yesterday. My raw score was 24. Could you help me determine my score? I live in Alabama so I need a score of 142.

So if I got a 33 on the science and needed a score of 159 then I probably passed? I had to take it twice! First time I got a score of 156... so close!

I have a question. I took the 5001 and also didn't pass SS so i signed up for 5004 and it was SUPER hard...missed by 2 points. Am studying to take again next week. Question is... Do you think the 5001 SS content is easier than the content on 5004. Couldn't I sign up for the 5001 multi subject again, fail the math, Sci, and Reading (because I already passed those) go straight to Social Studies and just take that? What do you think? My passing scores are the only ones that matter, right???...

5004 is neither easier nor harder than 5001's social studies component, because 5004 IS 5001's social studies component.

I guess I don't understand why the SS test in 5001 is called Praxis I and SS 5004 is called Praxis II. Seems different and I really think the content is easier in 5001, for SS at least...

I’m curious, does anyone know why the cutoff score is so different depending on the state? Some states require that you at least score in the low 140s, while others require in the 160s. What accounts for the large disparity?

When the Examinations for Teachers subforums first launched on A to Z, Praxis still categorized its teacher-test offerings as Praxis I (for basic-skills tests like PPST or today's Praxis Core), Praxis II (for tests of subject-matter knowledge), and Praxis III (for pedagogical and professional knowledge exams, like the PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching) tests). 5001 and its component exams would have been Praxis II, not Praxis I. The roman-numeral category designations are no longer in play, though it wouldn't surprise me to see them still surfacing in test-prep materials.

Passing scores for Praxis exams have differed by state at least since the late 1990s, when they also still varied by subject matter.

I studied with 240Tutoring online and just passed all 4 tests today. I also used quizlet and the practice tests on the praxis website.
    Reading-168
    Math-191
    Social Studies-170
    Science-176
These were the unofficial scaled scores . Sure hope they hold true for the official . I have quite a stretch to wait on them:)

    Good morning everyone!
I am in the process of trying to study and pass my retake Praxis 5004 Social Studies test. I have took a practice test online and received a 53%. Does anyone know if that would be considered passing or failing if it were the actual test. I am just trying to prepare the best way possible and wanted suggestions, and advice.
    Thanks in advance!
