In the schools I've been in the administration requires that state standards (i.e. Writing Standards 1.7 "students will be able to...")you are teaching for the day be posted. I've seen some teachers write it on their boards, or print it out on paper and clip those onto the whiteboards. One idea that I saw (and specifically bought a pocket chart for this) was to write the standards on sentence strips and put those strips into the pocket charts. This way it doesn't take up space on your chalk/whiteboard, it's more durable, it lasts longer, it's easy to change your standards in just a few seconds, and it looks more organized. Maybe you should try it....or maybe you have a better idea? I just thought it was something simple that made a big difference.
