I didn't have a wedding so no wedding song. However, my husband and my song has always been 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol.

Well, it was "In My Life" by the Beatles.

However, my wife always brings it up that if we had waited six months later, we could have gotten married on January 1 and it would have been "New Years Day" by U2. She never lets me live this down.

We go back and forth between two songs but I think we've decided on Elvis Costello's "Flutter and Wow".

You're video made me think of the theme from Romeo & Juliet. Love it!

    I love that Beatles song!

Our wedding song was Me & You by Kenny Chesney.

Instead of a traditional sappy father/daughter dance, I want to dance to to I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett because that's the song I remember dancing around the house to with my dad as a kid. And then I want my mom and siblings to join us. Maybe some sunglasses and inflatable guitars. Maybe we will start with a traditional song and break into it with the other one.

Awe!!!! I wanted my father/daughter dance to be to "Fish and a Whistle" by John Prine because my dad used to sing it to my little brother and I, but the beat is totally off and really hard to dance to, especially when it was pushing it to get my dad to dance in the first place!!! Little did I know, however, that he would sing it in his speech!!!! Seriously, my favorite wedding moment!!!!

My husband and I's song is "You and I" by Michael Buble.

We only had one song during our wedding. One of DH's groomsmen sang. They were in a band together at the time.

DH is a country music guy, and I'm a heavy metal girl who can go pop if necessary. So, we finally decided on a song with two versions. We compromised and used the pop music with a country singer.

    I Do (Cherish You)--Pop Version

    I Do (Cherish You)--Country Version

We didn't have music or dancing at the reception. In fact, I've never been to a wedding that had dancing at the reception.

We didn't have a first dance, or any dancing actually (afternoon church reception). But if we had, it would have been Ben Fold's Luckiest. Although dh just said it would have been Party in the USA. Hahah.

:dizzy:I'm on my phone and can't figure out how to put a link in to YouTube.

Mine was "My Only Love" by the Statler Brothers. I remembered the group as one of my Dad's favorite groups but I had never been a fan....until I heard this song.

That one got my tear ducts going. How special!

I taught my husband for a month how to sign his part of the duet, "A Whole New World" (from Aladdin, the grown up sounding one). It was a surprise to everyone. The only person who knew about it was the person in control of the music. We told that person the night before at the wedding rehearsal.

If I have a vow renewal, I like "When I said I Do" by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman.

Another song I like is "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross.

We danced to Forever and More, a song written and sung by the band we had. (The band may have had a name, I don't know. We knew them as Carl and Larry's band-- we had heard them lots and lots of time at The Minstrel Boy in Bayside NY.)

It's beautiful. And because most people have never heard of it, we feel as though it's ours alone.

It's good to see some oldies (from my day!) on people's lists! When I got married, we used One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story. If I ever marry again, I'd love to have Colour My World by Chicago and You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban.

When my son got married, we danced to A Song for Mama by Boyz 2 Men.

Sarge, I love The Beatles and I do like In My Life, but at the same time I think to myself "Leave your former lovers completely out of my wedding!" :haha:

I'm liking many of these songs. I didn't have a wedding, and we don't normally have dancing at wedding around here anyway (at least all the ones I've been to), but it's growing popular to have music and slideshows before the wedding begins. I love that idea, especially because I could never choose just one song. I'll have to think about what songs I'd want as part of the slideshow.

I had like three different songs during our slideshow. But we walked out of the ceremony to "Smile" By Uncle Kracker. And our first dance was to "Better Together" By Jack Johnson.

I'm not married yet, but this song is awesome and I'm going to make a mental note of it! My sister used this for her wedding and it brought tears to everyone's eyes.
