So I have emailed out probably close to 50 some resumes, cover letters, and teaching brochures. Well, I finally got an email from a principal today saying that the position has been filled; however, she has printed out my information and will contact me if any openings come up. She did address me by my first name instead of just a plain, general email like the others I have received telling me that the position has been filled. I am trying to perceive this as something positive, but also feel as if this was just a polite way of saying, "Sorry. The position has been filled." I am feeling kinda bummed and kinda hopeful.
Yes, you guys are right. I don't like dwelling on things like this either, especially since she really doesn't have anything open at the moment anyway. I guess I am really more hopeful that what she says is true and that my information is actually being looked at and not just being sent to the trash folder. With all the emails I am sending out to principals, I wonder sometimes how many other people are spamming their emails with resumes and cover letters too.
SCTeach, I am in the DFW area. I have applied to almost every district around here, including those that are about an hour's drive away.
