Does anyone use positive affirmations in the classroom? (i.e. "No excuses." "I can do great things.") I use these for myself. In fact I just created a "mindmovie" for youtube.com This is a link if you want to see it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6EXo4uw6ad4

I was thinking I might do one for my classroom that is geared to my students. I will have a projector so it might be something I could show daily or weekly. I could also just do it the old-fashioned way and have the students recite it orally but not sure that would go over well.

I found these ones for students on another site as an idea of what I might do.

I make mistakes so I can learn.
I learn so I can succeed.
I succeed so I can help others.

    Learner's Creed

I believe in myself and my ability to do my best at all times.
Because I am responsible for my life and for all of my actions:

    I will listen,
    I will see,
    I will speak,
    I will feel,
    I will think,
    I will reason,
    I will read,
    I will write.

I will do all these things with one purpose in mind:
To do my best and not to waste this day for this day will come no more.

I just figured out myself. I used Microsoft Movie Maker. It was an easy program to use. To find the photos I went to www.sxc.hu
They have a bunch of free stock photos. I also used a few of my own.

Mindmovies.com has a program you can buy for $27 but I found Microsoft Movie Maker to be a great program and free is always better, right?

Microsoft Movie Maker came with my computer so you may find it on yours too.

I enjoyed your movie, and found it uplifting. Thanks for sharing. I really needed that. I was having a pity party, and it boosted my spirits. Again thanks.

LOVE it!! I am going to have to add that to my LONG list of things I must do before school starts. I use my projector every day, and I would love to take more pics of my students this year, and intertwine those into weekly shows.

    Great idea!!
    Thanks for sharing!
