How many years of teaching experience do you have? You can count whatever you want: full-time, part-time, temporary, permanent, subbing, etc.

Not coming along fast enough for me yet, but I'm thinking in the next few weeks more positions will start to pop up.

This is year 7 of my permanent contract. I subbed for 2 years before that. Before my kids were born I worked for 5 years in private schools, but that experience doesn't "count" with the school boards.

This year makes 30 for me. Totals: Kindergarten-28 1st-1 2nd-1 And financially, I'm no closer to retirement than I was when I first started teaching!!

I'm on year two of teaching, but I decided not to include the 5 years of daycare experience as I was going through University.

23 1/2 at the end of this year. 3 different schools and grades 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. All public schools.

Let me add the clencher on this. I just found out that my current school did not have down my 1/2 year. When I found out I said, well, it doesn't really matter does it? She said you would of been paid half a step all those years. I figured out it is a little over 5,000 dollars they owe me. When I mentioned to the secretary that it was over 5,000 she said, oh I doubt they will give you that back pay, but they may start giving you the correct pay now.

I voted b4 I read that it could include subbing years. I subbed for 8 yrs then went back to college to get my degree, though I did sub a little for those 2 yrs. I have been teaching for 5 yrs now. So, my answer could be 3-5 yrs or 11+ yrs.
