    Hello All,

I am teaching American History for 8th Graders for the first time. While I love the curriculum, and am up to the challenge I want to take advantage of the election and focus a great deal on the process and the political parties.

I am looking for a worksheet or table that breaks down the differences between the political parties in terms that students can understand. And anything that can break down the election process into simplified terms...

Anything you are willing to share I would be grateful.

    TIA

Hi. My advice would be to visit YLI's Website (Youth Vote Intitative) at www.youthleadership.net. They have great election resources and they'll send you a packet when you sign up.

    I'd also visit Demokrato's site at http://demokrato.wordpress.com
He has whole units about teaching democracy, complete with downloadable handouts that are pretty straightforward.

    Best wishes for success!

    Diane
