mst..sounds like you need a lawyer, a personal copier, and a big a@@ file cabinet.

copy everything...sounds like this sister is shaky, and may come back Tuesday with a whole different story.

put it on paper..and be done with it.

    yep. she IS shaky.

mind you, while she, her friend and i were talking about kids (her cousin was there with 11 wk old foster twins), i mentioned i wanted my own. you would have thought i was speaking swahili or czech. she looked at me like "why do you want your own kids?" she actually said "you want your own? like, you wanna have one yourself?" uuuhh yea! i hope u don't think i'm a sit around and be auntie all my life. i do have a bf that i plan on marrying in the next few years and havin one maybe 2 babies with, sheesh. i'm not gonna be the the old cat lady. anyhoo-she starts tellin me how i can't have my own kids because what if she gets pregnant again, where's that kid gonna go?

this chick has COMPLETELY lost her mind!! she started talking about how when that child gets close to 2 she's gonna say "i'm callin aunt angie (look, i don't care if u know my name anymore)" and if i don't answer the phone then "ding dong" she's ringing my door bell and bouncing! this chick has gone mad! like, what is really wrong with her?? and we're all laughing but i broke it up and said to her friend, "you know the sad part is, she's laughing but she's dead serious." to which my sister nods and goes "i really am." SMH. a MESS.

after all this though, i want a boy next. i don't want 2 girls in a row. sorry. and i want my own!!!!!!!

mstemple, I didn't even realize that you had changed your avatar. She's is a cutie!! As for your sister..ugh! I can't believe that she had the audacity(sp?) to say that in front of you. I agree with MPK...some people just need to have their tubes tied straight away or after something like this. I wish you well in rearing your niece, new job, wedding(?). I hope that your sister can get the help that she so desperately needs.

Your neice is a cutie!!!! I have been following your story, but I have been busy the past few days with the class I am taking. It just blows my mind that your sister would want to have another baby and then give her/him up. I am just sitting here shaking my head. There are already too many kids in this world that don't know where they belong. Some days I wish I could take them all and let them know they are loved.

I don't think her sister WANTS to have another baby. But we know what happens when there's no protection!! She's saying IF she has another one, then, oh I don't have to worry about it, my sister will take care of this one too. Poor babies!

it's ridiculous. and my grandmother constantly tells me how i need to leave the state to get away from my sister dipping in and out of my niece's life. uuuuggghhhh. the point was to keep her around so she could be there as she felt led, but not taking over. then i said i should have just gotten full legal custody and not deal with this right now. but then i wouldn't have the help i have with daycare, insurance and the extra $ they send a month. AND if i did want to adopt my niece, i would have had to pay for it myself. going through foster care, i don't pay a dime for adoption. right. i was excited. now according to my grandmother she's still going to be there in and out as she pleases and all this stuff- but my grandmother is partially saying it so i will move/live closer to her.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. i didn't sign up for all of this!! i thought i was doing something right, but either way, it's gonna end up a mess. either i'll adopt my niece and my sister will dip in and out or i adopt her and move and leave everything here to run from my sister? not my original intent. i don't want to run. and i want to be spiritual and say "well, whatever drama my sister may TRY to bring isn't more than i can bear and God will look out for me the way he has thus far.."

no one's trying to hear that..

    did i mention UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I wearing a tag that says 'kick me'??

well, I am doing my best to keep my spirits up, not being on the job.

it seems that my night job doubles as tv sitcom..as they have hung up terrifying halloween characters all over the place, and they are screaming all night long! I am not in to this at all. there are enough real life crazy people going around, who needs 20 feet creatures hanging over my head all night?! And the ones that talk, jump and scream...some kid goes over and starts playing with them! why are kids in a drug store at 2am?? that is the messiest aisle of all. all those costumes they keep trying on, and leaving them all over the floor. GRRRRR!!!

then, I get people who drop money on the counter, (like they are scared to touch me) but they have the nerve to hold their hand out so I can give me them change! they get an attitude when I put their change on the counter! hey, that's how you gave it to me!

all night long, people are calling dearie, honey, sweetie..and other patronizing terms. some folks are too stuck up to get the rest of their change...it comes out a machine automatically, and they say, "oh you can keep it hon!"

if that isn't enough...I have this muzak track playing all night..with songs from the 70's and 80's, reminding me of times I rather not thing about...and the fact that I am alone again. :(

and my college professors like to make jokes and get laughs out of my questions. I am ready to drop both classes...seriously. I didn't go last week, I left early last wednesday.

last but not least..the unemployment office wants to find out why I left the job before last! this has nothing to do with that job! "oh, well you were only on your last job less than 4 weeks!" so what! do you really expect me to stay on a job that is not paying me? "we need to find out why you left the last job, and it has to be the job you worked at least 4 weeks." well, if that job has anything to say, they might turn around and tell them I am incompentent and left a child sleeping alone..and try to wreck my record for the entire state of Illinois!

    is it only Monday??

    oh...one more..
why is my college constantly emailing me messages from the counseling center to join the depression group?!!!

maybe they know something I have just figured out! I am not po'd
    I am depressed!

sister girl....you did sign up for this...

God don't give you nothing you can't handle
I've left lots people lots of times. they tend to get up off the couch and take care of themselves after I leave. then I come back. and when they start goofing off again...my phone number changes.

sometimes, you have to do these things..
    you are not a 7-11

you ain't got everything, and you aren't open 24/7

I hate it when people do that with change.

I feel terrible that this is patronizing. Not the keep the change part, but the 'hon' part. I do that all the time. I take the change, 'cause I'm broke, but I thought I was being nice with the 'hon'. Kinda the way my friends do me. If I had known I was bothering people, I wouldn't have been doing that.

I am too. We may have to move. My kids are in 5th and 7th grade. I spent a terrible year getting a master's, doing schoolwork 24/7 and now, no job.

I wish they would at least turn off the muzak for you. When you have so much going on, sometimes the little stuff just pushes you right over the edge.

Here's a hug.(()) You are not alone. There seem to be quite a few of us out here wondering what went wrong.
    I hope today is better.

i don't mind changing my number, it may change after dec anyway. and i will change addresses, well i'll be moving to the second floor of the duplex i'm in (i'm on the bottom right now w/ my own entrance) so she wouldn't just be able to show up anymore. and i wouldn't tell her i moved upstairs and she'd have to ring the bell or call first in order to get a hold of me. and i don't mind ignoring phone calls or door bells ringing!

i do that already when she calls!

the only reason i stopped ignoring calls when she wanted me to watch my niece was because i felt bad for my niece and worried about who would be watching her and if that person would be mean because they got picked to babysit @ the last minute.

    i'm such a sucker..

    thanks shirley!!!

the guy boss is a jerk...who likes to talk to everybody who comes in...hey at 2am...I just want to ring you up, and get back to straightening out the aisles! I honestly don't have time for a lovely conversation with you. I should have asked for overnight stock..and just hung out in the back...with nobody to talk to!!

the girl boss is real cool. she says I can turn off the noisy halloween characters, she doesn't care...as long as I turn back on by 7am! and she gives me extra breaks too...and I like that. I told her about the other job not paying me, and she said I should ask boss about EAP program for help. I am afraid once I tell her I am not working during the day, she will try to make me work more hours! I don't want to do that! I need time to look for real work. I know that's what she will say. and then, once she starts calling me to fill in for somebody, she will get ticked, cause she knows I'm not working...so I won't say nothing.

I wish I could take the change! but there are cameras all over the place! I asked what happens if I find money on the floor. they say I must turn it in. yeah right. let me find a roll of bills...I'll sweep it all the way to the bathroom!!!

I have serious issues with this patronizing stuff. I guess if I don't look old enough to you, you have a right to be demaning to me?? I don't do that to the kids who come in! okay..if they are being silly...loud, I do straighten them out. leaning all over my counter..throwing money at me..trying to buy cigarettes.. but I don't call them names. I just tell them to act right or I won't wait on them. If a little kid comes in and doesn't have enough money, I just tell them...you need to get mom out of the car!

if they are big enough to buy something...they should be respected!!!

I have a repair guy coming over tonight. He sounded okay, but ended his call with.."I see you later dearie." ...Do I sound like I am 4 or 64? who knows...

Ok, I have a job offer, making a LOT less money than I was, but I know a job's a job, a paycheck's a paycheck. Well, this would be a VERY stressful job, working with families who are about to get their kids pulled from them. I would be working out of 4 different counties, nights, evenings often, not to mention being on call one weekend a month. Do I take it, or I have other possibilites out there that would be even less pay, but NOT STRESSFUL, or not like the first one be. I'm kind of leaning toward going with one of the really lower paying jobs but lower stress for awhile, then trying to get a job with the state, which takes time but I have many possibilites. Just thought I would try to get other advice on this. Thaniks!

I guess you have to do a plus and minus chart.

How much less money. How much stress?
all weekend, every weekend? what are you...and group home supervisor??

does it have decent benefits, and in a safe location?

can you deal with it for six months??

that would be long enough to keep looking for something else, while paying bills.

    JMO...

going into a stressful job does not sound like fun daisy

did i mention that my sister didn't show up for her visit to the agency yesterday? so i'm in the orientation, my niece is supposed to be visiting with her momma, and the caseworker (who i told i would give a $ if she did show up) said he would keep her until she showed. he comes upstairs an hour later "yea, she didn't show." NO REALLY!?!??!! YOU SURPRISED? these people DO NOT know what they're in for.

anyhoo, she didn't show. and he said he would try and find someone to sit with her while i was in the class but he couldn't. he said she should be fine and they understood after i explained. but i didn't plan to have her in there because they tell you on the calendar "THERE IS NO CHILDCARE AVAILABLE FOR THESE CLASSES. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE." even before i explained they were like "kinship is different-you gotta do what u gotta do."

they decided to make the orientation 2 parts, so a babysitter last minute is a lil hard. you think i could take her tomorrow?

:unsure:Daysy, I'm not sure what to say. I know that a job is a job, but you don't want to jump from one bad situation to another. I don't handle stress well so I would definitely not take a job knowing that it was STRESSFUL. It also sounds like a lot of work for not a lot of money. Would you be okay with this? If you can afford taking a lower paying job w/o the stress than I say go for that! Good luck!

    my :2cents:

i agree w/ mpk. going into something that you KNOW already is stressful- doesn't sound like a job you should consider for real. i mean, i know "times is hard" (lol says the english teacher) but still, there HAS to be something better out there for you, right?

and it sounds like you're doing the kind of thing that my sister/niece/i are dealing with. better known as "the system". my grandmother just retired as a SCOH (service to children in their own homes) program director and she says the social work field is HIGHLY stressful and VERY LOW pay. you're going to be dealing with families who are probably (not all) incompetent, rude, disrespectful, don't want help etc. And the bosses, supervisors, directors etc. they are kind of snooty.

i would say wait, but that's just my opinion and you know your financial situation and obligation(s) better than anyone here.

    HOPE THIS HELPS DEARIE.

mstemple, I'm sorry that she didn't show up. What kind of message is that sending to your niece? Oh, I feel for your situation and your sister. This girl needs more help than she can probably get!! Wow...

On the job news, I still haven't heard from the principal of the school. Emailed the secretary and she said that interviews were not being held at this time, but that he had my application and would call at the appropriate time. How much time do you need? So I asked HR about a superintendent secretary job posted yesterday. Hey, if that doesn't give me a job next year as a teacher working for the super, then I don't know what else would. I'm still hoping for the intervention position. There was the same position posted for another school in the district that was filled today. Couldn't do that one because it was for 9th grade. I'm just wondering how long the P is going to wait to fill it.

uh..no..that's a pretty big sign... kinda like the one in the beauty shop

NO CHILDREN ALLOWED UNLESS BEING SERVED

you need a sick, part time, free, and drop in sitter MsT

you only bring kid to sick sitter when she is sick, you never keep her at part time person beyond 6 hrs, and you never pay the free one..not even with food...cause they will be hurt, and you ALWAYS PAY everyone else.

drop ins are family and close friends...

get on the phone...you got some work to do!

    SOMEBODY STOLE MY PANTS

    Okay I am beyond pissed.

Somebody stole my black work pants. FROM THE CONDO. I know I am not losing my mind. I know they were in that dark load. I know I just lost another pair of black pants...dickies work pants. this is no coincendece!

what lowlife scumbag goes thru the dryer shopping for work pants...in a condo! I had some blue pants stolen before..okay..that is for the school kids..I think.

I am just mad as hell!

Good thing I had a pair of boys gray pants, but these were the ones that really fit. I already tore up the house, I know where they were..they were in this load to be washed. And I know they aren't anywhere else in either house! they were dirty, I wore them Friday, and the gray ones saturday..just like I always do!

D*MN.. why is this mess happening to me!

stolen from the condo!! what! now I have to babysit my the dryer? and the washer? this is too much for me tonight!!!

don't let me see some chick walk by wearing them!

and don't let me see somebody stick their head in the laundry room...without clothes in their hands.

I may start a fight in this doggone building!

    why didn't I get a house!!!

    thanks MsT

I am beginning to think this is a racial thing...

why only take my black pants??

is that supposed to be a sign...

should I be watching my car now???

I'm thinking 2 years...and I may just move back to an apartment..

this is too much for me!

    oops

I have a confession to make. I found the pants. they were in my car.

I must be losing my mind. this no job, no money thing is starting to get to me.. don't remember one day to the next!

I did look in both my condo and my apartment.

Never bothered to look in car! forgot I changed clothes in McDonald's one morning....

I apologize for calling my future neighbors scumbags of the earth..

Of course, I found them after I bought 2 more pair. that's okay. It's getting cold again. need something heavier.

At least you didn't forget where your car was... I have a friend that does that.

MPK, I'm sure its just the stress of everything that you have going on. At least now, you can rest easy that your new neighbors aren't pant thieves.
