I had always thought that story was true!!! It wasn't until last year that I learned it was just a fictional story.
I didn't know it was fictional, TXTCHR29...I thought it was true also. I have seen it before and really enjoyed it. What a heart warming story. It really makes you think about why you are a teacher.
That video was good. It's too bad they dont have one for kids to see on the first day of school for an anti bullying campaign. reading the student files each september is very important. and try to see each child for their talents and strengths before you look at their past mistakes.
I think it is (or will be) probably true in all of our classrooms at some point. I think we've all had or will have a Teddy.
That was beautiful. I believe I read the same story in Chicken Soup for the Soul but it was more beautiful hearing it read and watching the video. Okay- have to wipe the tears and head on out. Thanks so much for sharing!
Oh... I wept. What a great reminder of what we do. ( I'm glad my dh and ds weren't here to make fun of me.) It reminds me of a short movie I watched 25 years ago in education classes: "Cipher in the Snow". Anyone else old enough to ever have seen that one?
