Planning Model- Wiggins & McTighe? HELP

    Does anyone have experience with this backwards planning model? I would appreciate any feedback you had.

    It's really pretty simple. You are looking at the assessment or desired outcome, then working backwards in planning how you are going to get there.

    It's just a shift in perspective. And probably a lot of what you do already. This is what I want, now how do I get there? I think it's more about being aware of what meeting a standard looks like and designing the curriculum to get there.

    Frankly, it seems like what we do anyway.

    The essential question focuses kids on what they are trying to understand. They think, "This is the goal of this lesson. I will know the answer to this question as I learn."
