Has anyone gone there recently? What shows do you recommend? I just looked up LasVegas.com and they have some Game Show that we might check out. We saw the traveling Price is Right game show last time we went and that was fun to watch. We like the magician and some of the Cirque Du Soleil shows. Stress Reliever = Vacation Planning!
I have never been to Vegas, but I am going next year with a friend when we both turn 40 (Oh, God...I can't believe that I put that in writing!!!--turning 40, not the Vegas part). Have fun!
There is a lot of entertainment to choose from so we've never been bored there. If you're going to see a show buy your tickets early because sometimes they do sell out and you don't want to miss it on your vacation!
I am OBSESSED with Vegas! My last trip was this past August. We went to see American Superstars at the Stratosphere last time we were there. In the past we have gone to see the Scintas who are at the Hilton-- FABULOUS show. It's a must if you haven't gone. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum next to the Venetian is fun, too. As far as the Cirque shows, they're all fantastic from what I've heard. Where are you planning on staying? Right in the middle of the Strip (Caesars, Flamingo, Ballys, Bellagio area) is a lot of fun and you are kind of close to everything that way. Enjoy your trip! PS!! You should get ahold of the American Casino Guide for 2008 or 2009 if you're going after January. There's a TON of awesome coupons in there for shows, casinos, etc. You can buy it on overstock or amazon. Hope this helps! HAVE A GREAT TIME!
I just looked up magic shows and this guy, Steve Wyrick got excellent reviews. I like the big stage illusions. That sounds like fun! There is also this $1,000,000 game show but I wonder how people are chosen!
Oh, thanks! I will check out that guide. Thank you! I don't know where we'll stay yet. We saw the few wax statues in the lobby and those were incredibly real-life looking! The prices for airfare are really "good" right now.
We went to see the $250,000 game show spectacular (or something of that nature..) it was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it.
We went for our honeymoon back in July and saw KA (at MGM)while we were there. It was awesome!! We also saw Stomp Out Loud (at Planet Hollywood) when we were there last year. I would recommend both!
I heard the Mystere show was good! It's hard to choose which Cirque Du Soleil show we want to see. We saw O (French for water "eau") and that was fun.
I stayed at "The Signature" at the MGM..it's those 3 tall towers connected to the MGM...it was all suites and junior suites and very nice.
Both times we've gone we've stayed at Planet Hollywood and were very happy with everything. We only paid $89 a night last time too!
I have never been there. My grandparents and an Uncle go all the time to gamble(which I do not agree with so we do not discuse it). Have a great time though!
well; I have a question regarding lodging in Las Vegas... my husband told me that one of his "worker friends" told him that when one goes to Las Vegas; they stay free?!?!??? Because they end up gambling in the casinos?? ok; I've never heard of this...is this correct? Makes no sense. Please shed some light, because I basically told my husband that his friend is so wrong. :help:
They call it "comps". We just play a little but people who spend a lot and have it tracked by using their cards can get them free things like free nights in a hotel so he is right.
We just got back from there over Thanksgiving. Mystere and O are both AMAZING!! My bro and parents saw Steve Wyrick and they loved it. We saw American Superstars, which was pretty good, and saw the Mentalist at Hooters for free! I highly recommend any of the Cirque shows, well worth the money. Oh, also saw Danny Gans last time I went. He's incredible, but the show was only an hour, and tickets were $100...just would've liked a longer show. But wow is what I have to say about him.....everything is great in vegas!!!
I stayed at Treasure Island twice and really liked it. They have the best bar, the one down by the entrance of the pool. We had a great time there! I also stayed at Paris...very nice. I love Vegas and I don't gamble at all.
How great! I wish I was going right now. I've been 3 times so far. I've stayed at Circus Circus & Harrah's. The 3rd time was just a day trip. I dont drink or gamble, but here's what I've done when I went before: Saw a pro tennis match at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Walked the strip. Ate at the buffets (breakfast & dinner). Went to Madame Tousand's Wax Museum. That was a waste of money! Sat front row at David Copperfield's illusion show. Walked around the hotels & Fashion Show mall & this other outlet mall.
I've stayed at Treasure Island, Circus Circus, Monte Carlo, Luxor, Ex Calibur and Mandalay Bay. I would not recommend Circus Circus or Luxor. They weren't too nice. IF you have the money--I highly recommend Mandalay Bay! It was so nice! We went there in August, but could only afford one night there, but it was our 20th wedding anniversary. Ive seen Blue Man Group, Mystere. I've seen several other Cirque shows but not in Vegas. Blue man was fun! I want to see Stomp Out Loud and Terry Fator (ventriquilliquist winner of America's Got Talent). Make sure you have very comfortable shoes--a couple pairs that you can change into. Don't make eye contact with the guys outside handing out prostitute trading cards. (unless you want a card!! ) Keep your gambling money separate from your dining money. Get a small over the shoulder purse--wallet size and only carry what you need like money and id--your shoulder will get really sore if you carry around a loaded purse everywhere. If you go in the hot weather, buy bottles of water from a Walgreens or grocery store and keep it in your room. They sell one little bottle of water for $3.00 on the strip. Whatever you want to buy in the gift shops of the casino can be found in little stores all up and down the strip--for cheaper.
