Transportation is all booked for my summer adventure! I'm taking the train cross-country from Southern Ontario to Vancouver, BC, then renting a car and spending a few days in and around Vancouver. I've booked a bus excursion to Whistler BC and a boat cruise and then will fly home. I've never been to the West Coast, and, with this being Canada's 150th birthday, it seems to be a good time to see as much of this beautiful country as I can! (I've also penciled in a 4-day trip to the East Coast later in the summer).
The west coast is beautiful! I have family in the Fraser Valley, so I go out there often. Wave as you zoom through the prairies... I'll think of you as the trains go by my place
Will do! I've been as far as Saskatchewan many times--both my parents were born there, so there's lots of family there. This will be the first time I've been further west than Saskatoon.
I know a historian in Vancouver - he came out with an app that provides walking tours for cities. He only has it in Vancouver, at the moment, but he had me proofread a lot of his tours, and they seemed pretty good. The app is called On This Spot, might want to check it out if that's something you're interested in.
I'm jealous! We would like to plan a trip to Canada when we retire. I have Canadian snow bird friends who are always asking us to visit during their off months.
