Does anyone have a subscription to a plagiarism detector in their school and would be willing to check 3 essays for me?

I know your school has to pay for this so I feel bad asking, but I am DESPERATE. I KNOW this girl didn't write these essays - one even has HTML coding in it - she obviously cut and paste it. But I can't find them anywhere on the internet.

If you want to pm me some fairly lengthy excerpts from them, I'll help you search.

Did you try plagiarism checker.com? It's run by google, and seems to catch things pretty quickly. I think you only need to type in 6 consecutive words and it will give you perfect matches as well as matches that contain the words but not all together.

Glen, I did try it and a few other free plagiarism checkers. I think it is just heavily paraphrased.

kcjo - i sent you a pm. Thanks.

Paper Rater is free. I tested it by pasting in some of an article I wrote for a web site. It pointed me directly to where it was posted.

Even paper rater didn't pick it up. I am pretty sure it was paraphrased. By Dad.

And Roget's Thesaurus. I can't find anything, and I've searched every suspect line in the thing. I can find a lot of similarities, but no exact matches. Kinda what was discussed in the other plagiarism thread-not exactly cheating, but not right either. I'll keep trying!

    Define "paraphrased by Dad"

Because I went to school BSC (before spell check). I was the worst speller in the whole school district, as Penny in The Big Bang Theory says, " I can't even spell NPR."
My written vocabulary in school was very low (my dad used to say, "You can't spell $#!+") but when I got home I wore out my dictionary and book of misspelled words, so work I brought from home was great.
Some teachers questioned my homework I solved it by asking to give an oral report after school, My oral vocabulary was almost off the chart.

I used to say "Orally I am ok but writtenly I am not so good"

Could your student be in a position like I was?

Do you actually *need* any more in the way of evidence if you have html code embedded in the text?

I sent you a PM. I found some possible sources with Bing.

As an FYI to everyone, if you are having trouble with google lately, it's because they completely changed their algorithm. I actually get better results with Bing now. Unfortunately I can't find stuff as easily as I did before Google changed their algo but it's all we've got. (I usually don't notice these things, but they cut out a ton of pages from A to Z for no apparent reason.)

google probably changed the algorithm because of bing stealing google search results

Thanks for your help everyone! I really appreciate it.

It is resolved, at least on my end. P is backing me up that she didn't write the essay based on prior work I have saved.
