I am making a big turkey dinner tonight, so that's means there needs to be pie, in my book. lol. Can't decide which kind to make though. Any suggestions or favorites? I certainly have nothing against good old apple, but does anyone have anything a little different maybe?

For me, a turkey dinner needs pumpkin pie to finish it off!

I did a mixed berry pie earlier in the year with blackberries, strawberries, and grapes made with a phyllo crust (all the things I had in the fridge that were about to go bad). My fiance loved it and I think it's his new favorite. It was pretty unexpectedly good!

I also love sweet potato pie. Yummy.

The only pie I've ever even tasted is a classic chocolate pie...and I found no need to try another because they are so heavenly! :)

I like pie crust, but not the inside so much. We should get together some time and share a pie! ;)

My grandfather would say he has two favorite kinds of pie - hot and cold. lol. Had to mention that, his birthday would have been yesterday. Man, I miss that guy.

Anyway, I wanted to make pecan, but remembered our roomie is allergic to nuts. That's my favorite though. BF won't eat chocolate and I also love lemon but when I do that, I make it from scratch adn its just too labor intensive with everything else I am making. I think I might go with pumpkin since I know I have some pumpkin in the pantry.

A good (and so bad for you) traditional pie from where I'm from is sugar pie. Other than that I really like cherry pie and strawberry rhubarb.

TOLL HOUSE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE PIE

    2 eggs
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. finely packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, melted and cooled
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) Nestle's Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

If using frozen pie shell, use only deep dish style and thaw completely. Place on cookie sheet; bake 10 minutes longer.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Add flour and both sugars. Beat until well blended, and blend in melted butter. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

    Makes 1 pie.

    Peanut Butter Pie

Bake a crust (any kind will do)

Blend 3/4 cup powdered sugar with 3/4 cup peanut butter

Sprinkle 1/2 mixture in the bottom of pie shell

Make 1 large package instant vanilla pudding, and pour over sugar mixture. Sprinke rest of sugar mixture on top, reserving a tablespoon.

Top with one container of cool whip.

Sprinkle rest of sugar on top.

Refrigerate as long as you can before you dive in.

Super easy and super good. I have company the other day, and they ate the whole thing.

My husband's favorite is cherry pie and I like peach pie.

The most unique pie I've ever had is one that my mother made - marshmallow pie with slivers of chocolate in it (with a graham cracker crust). MMMM!!!
