Not a U2 fan, but I understand the feeling of having great seats. I've gotten them quite often myself!

Yes. We had GA tickets and had no trouble getting a spot inside the circle on the side of the stage. We got to the Coliseum around 4:00. The gates opened at 5:00. The only problem with that spot was that it was very hard to see Larry or Adam. We had the same spot when we saw them in Dublin two years ago, and then we saw mostly Adam but no Edge.

If you have GA tickets, you might want to try the front just outside the circle. If you get there late, go for the foot of the claw on either side. If you get inside the circle, it helps to be tall. Then you can back off from the stage a little and get a really good view.

I don't know anything much about U2 but those are some great, artistic shots. You have good photography skills.

I LOVE the blue one - the one where it's all blue with the silhouette of The Edge (I think) and the light in the upper corner. That is so cool!

Thanks for the tips! I need to be where I have a great view of Larry, but I think that is obvious.

I was wondering if there was a connection between your AtoZ name and the venerable U2 drummer. Is that the case?

They were here a few months ago (maybe quite a few months ago, but I think it was less than 6 months ago if I am not mistaken. I remember seeing the billboards advertising their concert).

Oh, and one more thing. We each paid only $55 to be that close. U2 shows are like the old days where your location at the concert was a reflection of skill, intrepidity, and determination rather than your credit card limit.

Great pics, Sarge! One of the highlights of my life was meeting U2. This was before they were the superstars they are now. Small venue, and a group of 30 people hung around outside by their tour buses to "catch a glimpse". Needless to say, when they came out, they were so cordial and talked to us, signed autographs, and took at least 1/2 hour of their time for the fans. Awesome experience! BTW- I really thought I would marry Bono back in the early 80's.....

Awesome! I am very jealous. I have never been to a U2 concert and really want to go to at least one before a) the band breaks up or b) I die.

I saw them last year at Soldier Field, and I hope to catch them again this year. However, my best U2 concert was about 14 years ago. A good friend got us 10 free tickets, so we took the whole family. It was my sister-in-law's first concert, so watching her enjoying it was great. I also got a kick out of my 10 and 12-year-old kids who thought we were all crazy as we sang along with Bono!

GUESS WHAT! I got a call from that "good friend" who got us free tickets previously. She said that since we would both be celebrating a milestone birthday this year, she was wondering if I could do her a "favor" and go to the U2 concert next week--SKYBOX, here I come! LOL!

Were seeing them in NYC next month. It will be our first show on the U2360 tour that we will be in seats rather than on the field.

    OMG! I am SO Jealous!!!

We saw them in 97 and I had a terrible kidney infection and was completely miserable the entire show. It was awesome though. They came out of the audience to get on the stage and Bono was 3 people from me. Under regular circumstances, I would have been arrested being that close to him! LOL!!

Just got back from the U2 concert in Chicago. Sitting in the Skybox was totally awesome! Great food, drinks, front row seat in the box, and although the front is glass, they have windows at the top that open to get the full effect of the sound.

My son was in the "circle" with his friends and was right up front. Turns out they allowed 2,000 general admission ticket holders in the circle if they should up at a certain time.

What a great night! And, they played all my favorites!

We've actually yet to see the Claw in it's fully glory. We've always been too close.

What did you think of the setlist?

I most enjoy some of their older stuff, so I was happy to hear "Mysterious Ways," "Bloody Sunday," and "I Still Haven't Found..." And I have to admit that tears ran down my face as I listened to "Pride" because that song has special meaning for me (I'm welling up as I think of it now!) I don't want to spoil the surprise for you, but get ready for "Beautiful Day." It was awesome!

    You're from the Bay Area.

You might then also appreciate that a few years back we saw Green Day at the Fox Theatre. Of course, that's all negated if you come back and tell me you saw them back in the 90's on Gilman St.

Been there a few times. First was Green Day. That was right after. Then we saw the Pixies there and most recently Elvis Costello. It's an awesome venue.

Well Sarge, if you ever need to enter a contest for Best U2 Fan, and win a free weekend with the guys, just let us know - we have all the documentation you will need on this site!

I am not jealous. I am not. I still haven't gotten over your trip to Ireland. Plus I lived in the Bay Area for 25 years! Sigh. Truly, I am happy for you. I couldn't afford the tickets even if I had the chance to go.

Just remember if you win that someday contest, I was here for you Sarge!

Wow, those are some awesome pix. I saw the show last year and it was great...I was not GA that time, though. For ATYCLB I was about 20 feet from the stage. Not as close as you, but still amazing. Ohhh, how I LOVE U2. They are the soundtrack of my youth, (I graduated h.s in '84) and now they are the soundtrack of my middle age....may they go on forever!
