Your room is great. I love your Look at what we're learning board. I need to post my standards in the room but couldn't think of a cute way to do it. I might steal your bb idea.

I didn't think I would like the black but I really do. It makes things pop out on the bulletin boards. Great job!

I LOVE your little reading area with the red chairs. I just bought some things to make a similar area and my rug was smaller than I thought so seeing those pictures has inspired me to set it up similarly to yours!

    Thanks everyone!

@goopp: You're welcome to it :) I used sheet protectors to make changing out the objectives easier.

I'm becoming a big fan of black bulletin boards too. It definitely grew on me.

The red chairs are from the Scholastic bonus catalog. I forgot to set up the little table that goes with it -- it's still in my car!

I love wide open areas. I tried to put everything along the walls. I even got rid of my teacher's desk -- thanks to a thread on this forum -- and it has really helped open up the area.

I like your classroom layout and the rooms themselves. In which county do you teach, Ms. Yi?

I teach in Hillsborough County in Tampa. We added a wing to our school a few years back and the new classrooms are much smaller and the opening between the rooms is larger...pretty weird combo, if you ask me.

Thanks for the nice comments :)

I teach in Hernando County- we're not far from one another at all. I was curious. :) I saw how you had your standards posted- or your focuses- and I was wondering if it is a county mandate like it is for ours.

    Thanks.

@Jasztal: wow that is pretty close. It's not mandatory atm but they'd like for all teachers to post them.

Thank you. My fiance created them for me. There are actually two, with one stacked on top of the other. He's not too happy with them so he's making me another set =) I had him look at Lakeshore's organizer to get ideas so if you wanted something similar, you could buy it from there.
