Finally got an email back from the P at the Christian school. he would like to begin the interview process with a phone call sometime this week at my convenience. However, there was one part of the email I have read, and re-read and still am not clear on what he means exactly:

I am thinking he is trying to tell me this is why it took so long to get back in touch with me after my initial application?

Off to email him back about talking tomorrow night hopefully.

Very simply it has to do with the school's budget affecting hiring.

That is what I thought when I first read it too, jwteacher. I understand that, but why interview me if its affecting hiring.

Yes, I realize that but I'd rather him wait to even interview me until he knows for sure. Guess I'll know more once we do a phone interview.

It is pretty common for principal's to begin interviewing before a position becomes open. At a previous job I had, the principal was very up front and said that he had no positions but at the first sign that he has the go ahead to hire, he will submit names from his applicant pool. I was called a few days later and offered a job. I guess he got clearance early.

Go in with a positive attitude that you will get this job...whenever it becomes available because just like SCT said, you never know! I'm excited for you! Good luck!

Good luck! As others have said he probably wants to get a jump-start on interviewing so when he has the go-ahead he can quickly make a decision.

Personally, I think he was explaining why it took so long to get back to you. I bet he has a position open ;)

All I can do is wait! I never heard back from him today to find out what time, or what night, he plans to call me. :dunno: I am hoping he can clarify all that when he does call.
