I know this is a wierd, random question, but what kind of pets do you like? Are you a cat person or a dog person or something else? I think it would be cool to find out.

I am ABSOLUTELY a dog person!!!

(Though at the moment I'm the voice of reason in my house for insisting that we wait until the school year ends to replace our dog. If it were up to "the boys" we would have a new beagle puppy already. If it were up to Julia, it would be a Golden Retreiver pup. Kira will take anything. I'm the only one saying NO until June.)

Eeew, and I can't stomach the thought of any sort of gerbilly kind of thing.

The difference between those things and rats, as far as I can see, is a very thin line I choose not to get too close to!

We even have some chinchillas in school (in our "zoo") and I can't make myself go near them.

I had gerbils when I was a kid. My nutty uncle gave them to me. He said they were all girls. SOOOOOOOOOOO...why did we end up with 9 gerbils when we started with 3? We got rid of them when the mothers started to eat the babies. NEVER AGAIN!

I used to be a cat person. I had 12 at one time. I am now more of a dog person. I'm tired of litter boxes.

I voted cats (it only gave me one option and they are the majority) since I have 4 feline babies.
I also have one canine baby and I have one guinea pig that used to serve as class pet but since I wanted him to keep his sanity I have brought him home.

LOL trust me when he started squeaking when they would rattle paper because he thought it was a bag of carrots he lost his sanity and you would lose yours. The only thing that would calm him would be when I turned on the classical music CD.

Now we have 2 dogs and some fish. Growing up we had a little of everything, always cat(s) and dogs, fish, gerbil, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, hedge hogs, frogs, a goat, pigs, and I don't even know what else!

I love dogs but we own lizards. One of them is an adorable (yes--I said it) leopard gecko. I didn't like him at first but one day he just caught my eye just right and that was it. I really like him now. He even uses the same corner to go to the bathroom.

I do want a dog. I need to convince my husband.

I love my bunny. I would also love to have a hedgehog. I was promised one after I moved out here, but upon researching realized CA is one of only two states that outlaws them as a pet. Grrrr. They are so stinkin' cute. I've always wanted a pet skunk, too, but I will never act upon that.

I looked at chinchillas before I got Bunny. Dh was adamant that we would not get one. Maybe one day if I have my own office, I'll get one for there. They are also adorable.

Apparently we are getting a dog when we get a yard-I've never had one and I'm a bit worried about their energy. But dh can't wait to get another Portuguese Water Dog.

Oh, lemon...I forgot we had a lizzard. The boys take care of him and I forget he's even around. How I do that, I'm not sure. He's a two foot iguana that lives in a VERY large cage on the back patio. His name is Indiana Lizzard.

I am an all pet person. everything is fair game for me. However, due to son's allergies we have lizards and gerbils. Our gerbils are very tame as are our bearded dragons. My ideal pet is a pie-bald ball python. Seeing that they can be close to $800-$1,000 this is a long term saving goal.

Cats are my favorite, but I love dogs, too. Not getting one because we are gone working all day. Cats take care of everything on their own and don't chew things up.

In the past, I've had dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, tons of fish, even hermit crabs, but I love dogs the most. The dog I have now is my 1st one AS AN ADULT & he's my baby & I spoil him like crazy! I like rabbits too, they're cute, but you can't do much w/ them. Fish are more for decor. I've always wanted saltwater fish.

Animals I'd NEVER have for a pet are snakes, spiders, lizards, & mice.

If I could have an avatar (apparently the feature no longer works, or the rules have changed--nobody will answer my questions) I would introduce everyone to my baby bird Molly.

Hey, Grammy, when did you steal my cat?!?!?!?!?

My orange kitty actually turns on the kitchen faucet so he can drink from the running water. It's just wierd.

He can't turn the faucets on, but I can't use the bathroom without him jumping in the tub for his faucet drink. He follows me everywhere I go, tight against my leg.

The bathtub is also a favorite place for all three inside kitties.

*sigh*...I guess I'm in a melancholoy mood...one of my cats somehow got out. Nobody's seen him since yesterday afternoon :(. He's a totally indoor kitty and not in the best physical condition (broken leg from before he adopted me that didn't heal properly and other smaller, but still badly healed injuries on his back legs.)

Where's the "all of the above" option? I've had all of those, and then some. A horse, dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, reptiles of all kinds, a bird...

I'm probably a ferret person more than anything else, though I don't have any right now. Soon, but not yet.

A dog person. the avatar was our last dog. A Boxer named Boxsie. She passed away about ...ummm 7 years ago? We have a brindle boxer now...NAMED Brindle (My kids took turns naming them when they were just toddlers-thus the original names.) Brindle is getting to be an old lady... and just about the time the kids move out-she'll be "moving on". it'll be pretty lonely for a while.
