Before I kept my professional calendar under my school email and my personal calendar under my personal email. I realize I can share these. But do I want to have my personal available under school? Can admin view this? I don't have anything to hide nor do I think they search it's just the thought. Am I over thinking this? Last year I switched back to paper because I really did not like having two calendars. But then I did not like the lack of convenience of paper. So...do I go back to Google or head to Staples for a calendar...hmmmmm?????
Personally, I like keeping my work and personal life calendars separate. But, I have both visible on my phone. So, anytime I want to compare the two to ensure that there is nothing overlapping, I check the calendar on my phone.
I use a Google calendar for work, because that's what my district has provided. I use Apple Calendar for my personal calendar. Both are synced on my iPhone.
I put everything on my work calendar, but that's because I have a very boring life I know my district wouldn't snoop in my calendar but I also know if I contravened our contract, they could look at my calendar. So, for example if a teacher put on their calendar, party at 7 on Friday and called in sick on Friday, the District could use this in a dismissal case, so I'd generally do what bella suggested because your private life really deserves its privacy.
I also live a fairly boring life. I just am the of the mind that work and personal life should remain separate. I am one of the few people I know who won't even bring my work computer home (except in very rare cases). I keep all of my files on separate Google Drive accounts (one for personal life and one for school), so that I can access my files from any computer... It's a rare day when I use my work computer for personal business. Although, I frequently use my home computer to conduct work. It's not out of fear of my district snooping. It's more a matter of control. I like to know that I have control over my calendar, software, email, files, etc. I don't want anything I care about stored on work-controlled tech should I ever find myself leaving my district and still want/need access to things related to my personal life.
If I share my Google work calendar to my personal Google calendar but not vise versa, school cannot view it correct?
