I've noticed about half the openings in my county say "pending budget approval in July". Is it likely the schools will interview before then, or will they wait until they have approval?

While I cannot point to experience in this regard, I'd imagine that they would interview so that they have potential hires ready to choose from, and then if the budget is approved, they can then immediately hire someone. What state?

They will probably do screening interviews. Since you are going by county, there will probably be openings no matter the outcome. They may interview most needed positions before and all the rest after budget approval. Apply! Good luck!

Thanks! I've applied for every opening, including the budget pending, but I haven't heard back from any principals yet.

Give it time. You may or may not get callled for an interview. Sometimes I didn't hear from districts until months after I applied. If you do, it will probably be in the summer.
