Pencil rule display

At my former school a teacher made her rules look like a huge yellow pencil. She printed the rules on the paper and folded to make the point, red at the top etc. Does anyone know exactly how to do this or has anyone done it? Is it hard?

I had a poster from Scholastic that I got for a dollar that was in the shape of a pencil. Would that work?

 

If it were big enough. This was just neat. It was two sheets of paper wide and 5 to 6 feet tall. It probably wouldn't be that hard. I was just wondering if anyone else had made one.

 

The poster was pretty big but it sounds neat. I bet its not too hard.
