Okay this has been driving me crazy forever... How do you fix pencils that sharpen unevenly? One of the teachers I work with has a sharpener that does this repeatedly. It's bad enough that the kids are starting to notice. Are there secret tricks or anything? Help!
Push the pencil a little bit in the direction of the side that isn't getting sharpened. So, the pencil isn't going into the hole at a completely straight angle, but slightly offset. It works for me every time.
Pencils now days are cheaply made, many have broken leads that continue to fall out as you sharpen. And many are off center like the OP alluded to. We need to find the better companies and share the info.
