Hi, everybody. Please forgive me, I know I posted something similar to this before, but I'm having some trouble, and I really wanted your help. I love teaching high school English. I gotta be honest. It was a miracle that I was hired as a long-term sub two years ago. I had NO teaching experience. It was literally trial by fire. If it wasn't for this website and Teachers Pay Teachers, I would have not survived. I really think I need some help when it comes to pedagogy and my content area. I never took an education class, had student teaching, etc. And it's killing me because I feel like I'm failing as a teacher. I want to be a smart, effective English teacher. I have a book on Classroom Management, but when it comes to the content area, what can I do? Are there any PD's that I should be aware of when it comes to English and Secondary Ed? Books? Thank you so much!
