When working on writing what kind of paper and pencils do first graders use? I'm asking because I'm doing a case study with a first grader, and I want to make sure I provide the right materials. Would I use regular notebook paper, or would I use the Zaner-Blosser lined paper? Also, do they use regular pencils, or the bigger ones? Thanks in advance for all of your help!
I recommend the lined paper for sure. The students need the 3 lines to guide them while writing. As for the pencils...it depends. Most first graders are fine using the regular pencils, but some who aren't comfortable w/ writing yet might need the bigger ones instead.
