Greetings everyone! I discovered much to my dismay that the PA standard teaching application asks for your high school GPA. I'm very proud of my 4.0 (so far) college GPA, but unfortunately I cannot say the same for my unspeakably awful (in the 1's) high school GPA I earned in '99. Can anyone tell me how much weight an applicant's high school gpa holds in regards to getting an interview? Any comments will be greatly appreciated! Also, how might I go about obtaining my high school transcripts?
I'm in PA. I don't recall writing my GPA down on the app though. I think they just want college GPAs. To tell you the truth, I don't even know my high school GPA. I don't have high school transcripts either.
I'm also in PA, and I think it did ask for a GPA for high school, but I know I don't have my HS transcripts. I'm not sure really how much weight HS GPA would even hold. If you have any other question feel free to PM me
I too don't recall putting my HS gpa on there, it wasn't good, i know that. So we are all from the wretched state of PA where jobs are few and far between. What college did u grad from Where is everyone from? ME-Beaver County
I went to IUP (Indiana University) Right now I'm in Armstrong County, but almost in Westmoreland (it's right across the river) LOL!!! No jobs around here!
I am from western pa. I don't even think I put my h.s. gpa on my application, so I wouldn't worry about it. I think they are only interested in your college gpa. Good Luck, especially in Pa-it's rough out there!!
You should be able to get your high school transcripts by contacting the school district you graduated from. I needed mine for something and I was able to get them and it was about 15 years after graduating!
If you have a 4.0 in college, who cares what you had in high school! They will be impressed by your college achievements! I would put it on your application if they require it. I would only be worried if your gpa's were reversed. Sheri
I put mine on there. Not sure why, but I remember mine. I live in Beaver County, went to Pitt, and teach at the PA Cyber Charter School
I'm a WCU alum also. When I filled out the PAREAP I did not enter my HS GPA - I left it blank, I have no idea what it was! I agree with everyone who stated that the college GPA is more important and more indicative of your current abilities!
