Does anybody know what the requirements would be if I moved from PA to AZ to teach? I will be receiving my Bachelor's Degree from a university in PA in May and am hoping to move to AZ to begin a teaching career in the fall. Also, does anybody have any information regarding school districts near Scottsdale? Thanks.
Bachelor's in what? You'll probably have to take Arizona's tests (http://www.aepa.nesinc.com), though possibly not immediately if you've passed the equivalent Praxis exams. But czacza's right that you need to inquire of Arizona's state department of education, or at least of the unit of the state government that's in charge of teacher licensure.
Things are tough for teachers in AZ right now, tougher than in many other places. Would you consider a move to NV? You might have better luck there.
There's that, and Nevada's a Praxis state, so if the OP has already passed the other state's tests, chances are the OP's ready to roll at least as regards the basic-skills and subject-matter exam requirements.
I'm really hoping to move to Arizona. I have a place down there so it would be easier to find a job there and move.
As a fellow teacher from PA, I was told that PA's certification is reciprocal with almost every state. The most you may have to do is take another test similar to the Praxis. Look into the department of education in Arizona or a specific school district to learn what you may have to do if there's anything extra.
