Like most of you, I am so glad I came across this site! I have gotten so much out of it. My question is this: Do any of you love any other teacher sites? I would love to know about more good ones! Thanks!
I strongly recomend scholastic.com. They've got tons of great ideas that go along with everything. If you get weekly readers, or scholastic news, it always has activities to go along with it too. There are so many others. I'm sure other posters will post many, but I will post more tomorrow (If they're not already posted).
I often search for other teachers web sites that they created. I have found many links that are great for me as a teacher and links for my children.
I also have a teacher section on my website. It's based on things we are doing at school. I add to it throughout the year, so it's relevant to what we are teaching.
Here's a few that I really like: www.bry-back.manor.org www.first-school.ws/ www.hubbardscupboard.org/index.html www.janbrett.com/ www.kizclub.com/activities.html www.littlegiraffes.com/ www.preschooleducation.com/ www.learningpage.com www.preschoolbystormie.com www.thevirtualvine.com
I like http://www.preschooleducation.com and http://www.preschoolrainbow.org and http://www.pbs.org/teachersource . The PBS site will give you lesson plans, printables, AND will tell you exactly what standards are filled for each lesson (if you are like me and must put the standards fufilled for each lesson in addition to objectives.) It will also tell you what's coming up on your local pbs station so you can tape a show if it goes with your theme. Then they sometimes have lesson plans and books that will go with the theme too.
