I FINALLY got into my classroom yesterday!!! I have A LOT of work to do:eek: I will not have time to level all of my chapter books, so I'm looking for some other way that I could neatly organize them so they are easy for the kids to find and look through.
    Thanks for your suggestions!:help:

    parents.

At meet the teacher night or your first note home ask if there are a couple parents willing to level books for you. There are usually several parents willing to help out.

Level one or two books each day.

I have leveled books, but also do themes and the kids love it! You can do author, fiction, non fiction. I have different kinds of animals, dog books, bear books, sports, reptiles, caldecott award winners, biography, etc.

If you have baskets, you could group them by subject or if you have many by the same author, start there.

I leveled my books as well as put them in baskets based on genres. I leveled them through scholastic. My baskets are different colors based on the genre. Pink has all the non-fiction. Green has all the chapter book series. Yellow has all my book club books. Orange has all the chapter books. I have baskets just for picture books, etc...
