Our open house (meet the teacher, back to school night) is tomorrow night. It is supposed to be about 90 and very humid. We don't have air conditioning in my building.

Sooo.... I always wear my hair down. But it is very long at the moment and very thick. Between the heat and the humidity, down is probably not my best move.

Any ideas on quick and EASY but nice hair styles? Easy is important. I am hair challenged  Plus I will have my 6 month old niece from 6am until about 15 minutes before open house starts.

I've already done a practice run of this: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/308215168221745778/ I wasn't crazy about it. It worked though. Last resort.

I already did a practice run of this, too: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/10414642858880674/ It was terrible. I couldn't get the top smooth and the roll/bun had ends sticking out everywhere after multiple attempts. (This should give you an idea of how hair challenged I am ;)

I would just wear a regular middle ponytail. Lol. Do you have bangs?

    No bangs.
I have a very round face, so I try not to wear it in a ponytail to work. Or anywhere out and about for that matter. At home it is another story ;)

Scratch that. I tried it. I can usually do an OK side braid. It isn't perfect but it is the best I've got as of now. Thanks!

My daughter does the sock bun - with a real sock. She said it's easy.

If you want to pull it back in a ponytail or something but want something on the face, just pull a section from the front top over to the side and pin with a bobby pin. Like a side bang
thing. I'd go for the simplest style of all in that temperature.

I have pulled hair into low pony & use one of those like claw clips to pull it off my neck & then hair falls over clip. Hubby called it pineapple....

This is the gist of it, but I have to use a pony tail holder to keep hair gathered because it's too slippery to just use claw.... Longer hair covers it!! I wore my hair like that a lot in our non a/c rooms!!!!

OK, if you are hot, so are the parents. Go for simple, no explanation will be necessary, trust me. If it is clean and you are managing to smile through the heat, that is what they will take away from your brief time together. ;)

Try a low side bun- I have thick medium long hair that is wavy naturally. But it poofs like crazy when it is humid. I don't put mine all the way to the side of my head, like some women do, but it is off center.

I also like to wear a ponytail (either a straight one down the back or one that the hair is pulled up higher- does that make sense?) and then before the last time I twist my hair through the elastic, I only pull half of the ponytail through forming this poof. It helps to keep my hair from getting frizzy and out of my face and it keeps the back of my neck cool.

Thanks guys. I ended up doing as close as I could manage of the side braid (with my 'bang' section twisted so there was some volume somewhere). It ended up storming really bad so everyone was wind-blown and soggy (I was in the building before it happened). I didn't escape the humidity frizz though. Luckily it cooled it down after the storm and I actually wasn't hot. I would have been if my hair had been down.

Oh, and my hair was up in a messy bun as soon as it was over! The braid was itchy because my hair was still damp from the shower (it was easier to braid while damp).

Glad it worked out! And I'm so happy to hear that I'm not the only hair challenged one!!
