I went to Kohl's in the late morning looking for an area rug for my living room. A rug with the colors I wanted was on sale for $149 from $249, plus I had $30 Kohl's bucks, plus I used a 20% coupon so I felt pretty good about the purchase.

I purchased some Christmas decorations for next year. They were 50% off, and the selection was still good.

I got off to a late start today. By the time I made it out, everything had been picked over. There wasn't even any candy left!

Went with my daughter to order her maid of honor dress, so no discounts there.

Happily, 2012 calendars are already on sale so I got one on environmental art.

I online shopped at Easy Spirit & got 3 pairs of boots totaling $129.26.

I also was out in the madness of the mall only to use my $10 JCPenney $10 coupon before it expired. I didn't see anything there like I often don't, so my old standby is getting wash cloths. I got normally $8/ea towels for under $7 for a total of 4 towels.

I was in Sears for about an hour and a half yesterday, trying to find something for my girls to wear to the wake and funeral. (Brian is easy: dress pants, dress shirt and tie. Though I did get him a black cardigan-- as opposed to a jacket-- since the burial will be cold.)

They had 50% off girls dressy dresses.

Still, somehow I managed to spend $160, $40 of which I'll probably return next week because of second thoughts.

I think I want to hit Target this morning and get a big coffee urn. I somehow lost the cord to mine, and have had no luck getting it replaced. I've been meaning to get one for a while. But we'll need one for the luncheon on Friday, so I'm guessing it's time to just go pick up another urn.

My favorite thing to buy in an after Christmas sale is a new calendar. I will probably go shopping for one today or tomorrow. I have a coupon to a clothing store that is $10 off a $25 purchase so I probably will use that too. I really need new snow boots so hopefully I can get a good deal on them this week.

I'm hoping I have time today to get wrapping paper for next year. That's the one after-Christmas thing I always get.

Okay, I've said before I usually only get two or three angels and beyond that I don't buy gifts (with the exception for the two kids I buy for on behalf of my father-in-law). Well, thanks to a great after-Christmas sale, I did get my nephew something. We haven't had Christmas at my mother's yet, so I will give it to him when we do. It's a cool table and chair set for just $10. It was marked on sale for $29, which I thought was great, and then when I got to the register it was just ten. The clerk said that was the deal of the day! (not literally) Go me! :)

    Awesome deal, JustMe!

We ran yesterday and got some good deals, too. My mom picked up a Cars racetrack set for her nephew, whose birthday is in a couple weeks. I got a new Christmas platter for $5 (my old plastic one from my college days broke last year), some treat bags and small goodies for my students next year, and a few other assorted small things.

Treated myself to a new 3/4 length coat. Picked it up at Macy's, regularly $400 on sale for $144.

Holy cow - Lands' end section at sears - I got long sleeve tees for $12, the same cardigan my mom got me in another color for $18 (originally $50) and a new jacket for $25. The jeans were not on sale but they were a size smaller so that's just as good. :)

Also hit up Bath and Body Works - quite the sale, but I bought so much before Christmas. I only got a few things, but they had several items that were $3 or 75% off. Their Winter Candy Apple is my favorite scent for the whole year, so I always stock up and use it all year. lol.

Really good sales on coats in all the department stores but I just couldn't find the right one.

I went to JC Pennys and got a $100 pair of boots for only $20 and then went to Old Navy and got a pair of jeans and 2 tank tops for $20. Not too bad :)

I need to go shopping tomorrow. Our Christmas tree is on its last leg, and we had to put lights on our prelit tree, which is not good. I'm hoping to find a larger tree, like 10-12 foot, reasonably priced.

Walked into Hobby Lobby yesterday and they still had their 80% off of all Christmas items!

Got a $7.99 roll of Christmas paper for under $2 and some really cute ornaments; 2 of them will look great in my daughter's room now (they are the high-heeled ornaments); also got some Thank You cards for next year.

Well; I noticed that our Hobby Lobby still has TONS of Christmas stuff left over.
Too bad they didn't have their things nicely marked BEFORE Christmas...they would have sold alot more and not have to mark it 80% off AFTER Christmas.

    oh well; just saying.
