Cool!!! These look great... I don't teach high school geometry but I'm surely going to check these out when I'm doing a unit in geometry for my 8th graders. :)

Definitely do the Wizard of Oz one with Pythagorean Theorem. The kids find it hysterical!

Great idea, Alice. I have a ton from the workshop I just went to. I just need to organize them in one place and then I'll post them.

I'm adding some of these to my webpage, so I thought I would bump the thread up to make it easier to find.

It might be cool if all of us who want to do this share through Diigo or Delicious. That way it's always easy to find and won't be buried in a thread when we need it.

Diigo is social bookmarking with tags ... you bookmark favorite sites, tag them with meaningful words (e.g. 'reading' 'student tool' 'collaboration') and then can access your favorites from any computer. The social aspect is you can see the favorites of any one you friend.

For example, Bandnerd and I are friends. I can see all of her favorites and she can see all of mine.

You can also sign up for groups and when anyone adds a bookmark to that group, you can get an update (daily or weekly).

I'm NEVER behind on new technologies or education news because so many people are marking things of interest FOR me! :)

Another great thing about Diigo is that you can create a teacher account also to share links with your students. Then you can post a "badge" on your website so that it's easy for the students to get to. There is some privacy control, too. They can't access it unless you let them join the group.

StudentTeach, if you can, add the "diigo" toolbar to your brower. It makes tracking things so much easier. Also, make sure you sign up for a teacher account so you can give your kids access to sites you think will be helpful to them!

I just installed the toolbar, it looks really interesting! I tried signing up for the teacher account but it wouldn't recognize my school e-mail, probably because it has a .com at the end so I sent them an e-mail about it. I'm teaching The Crucible for the first time this year and it was like Christmas when I saw all your links! :)

LOL, Studentteach... I've been teaching the Crucible for 15 years... when you get close to planning for it, PM me, and we can collaborate. :)

The site didn't recognize my school address at first either. I just contacted the help desk, and they had me in within 24 hours.

Yikes! Another new thing to figure out. I'm a bit teched out right now. We're having to convert everything to Moodle right now, and I keep having to figure out how to do everything for that. I'll have to be like Scarlett and figure this out another day.

My seventh graders loved that! Also, they enjoyed the Pythagorean Rap found on teachertube. It definitely helped them put it to memory.

This needs a lot of updating but all my links from a few years ago were put on a blog. I use it to access links all the time and plan to expand it this summer.

I'm also in diigo. Not sure I've got it figured out yet. I haven't been able to add bookmarks yet. But I haven't messed with it since signing up after reading this thread the first time. I believe my screen name here is the same there. Initials are KW.
