Online Portfolio

Where do you have yours hosted? I am just going to do a free blog, I am pretty good at making them look like websites. What all should I include? I'm not putting too much time into this as I know it probably won't be looked at but I figured it couldn't hurt. Anyone care to share theirs? Thanks!

When I was in grad school, our portfolio was done online and was/is hosted by the university. Mine is in need of serious revision (I haven't updated it since graduate school), but you can take a look at it for an idea of what information to include.

Mine was also hosted by my college.

But may I kindly advise you to put your all into this? You are obviously doing it hoping someone views it, so if that goal is reached do you really want them to see something you "didn't put much time into"?

I used wix for mine - I'm paying for a domain name and to have ads removed, but I think it's worth it to make it seem truly professional.

I've included a welcome page, a fairly comprehensive "about me" sort of page where I link to descriptions of my field experiences and other related positions, a resume/recommendations page (with Word and PDF versions of my resume for download and links to evaluations from my CT, my field instructor, and my students), a teaching philosophy section, and a section called "artifacts" (I'm not sure if this is a universal term or if it's just my university's preferred term) where I link to information about lessons, activities, assessments, etc. that I've enacted in my classroom. I included TONS of pictures of student work, brief descriptions of each activity, and links to documents (like lesson plans, assignment sheets, etc.) where relevant.

I don't mind sharing, but because I've included so much personal information, I'm not going to post the link publicly. If anyone's interested, though, feel free to shoot me a pm. :)

Thanks everyone! And it will be with my all, I don't do anything half way, but I am not going to put weeks into web development and html coding, etc. Just the basics, but it will look fantastic ;)

I used weebly. My mom looked at it, but nobody else did (other than my masters committee at my university).

Even the principal who hired me never looked.

That said, I think it's a nice option to have and it helps to organize your materials, thoughts, credentials, etc. I've continued to add to it.

Weebly

I wish this would come up on a google search!

It should unless you opted to hide it from search engines. It is under settings.

I chose to hide mine because it has SOOOO much personal information on it, and I've already had my identity stolen once!

I used Weebly when I made mine. It wasn't too hard. I have updated it regularly, and have actually had people look at my page. I even had one P email me after I told him of my site, and he said it looked impressive, and that I did a good job! I did have one P say the links didn't work. I had checked them the week before, and just today, and they worked fine. I'll have to check them on a different computer to see if it's random. Other than that, I like Weebly!
