What are some online games that you have tried in your classrooms? I created a simple drawing and guessing game that is fun to play with students called Drawpoly but I'd love to hear other ideas or feedback on Drawpoly!
Well, I think it depends on specific situation, but if they are old enough, I would suggest even something like Monopoly online. Nowadays it's pretty important to find interesting games for each specific age range, isn't it? I've been looking for some cool games for our kids as well, and after some searching, I could discover this game art portfolio from iLogos, which has hundreds of indie games, and every game - has it's unique design and gameplay features. Isn't it great? I wish we had such game developers in our childhood.

Homo Machina (educate game). This is easily my favorite game of all time on here. Every single game I've played now trying to compare to it falls short. When I played it I never saw it coming, and I had this feeling like I was in control. Greatest game ever, hands down.
My classroom always likes Kahoot. You project the game on the overhead projector, and students can either use a computer (or their phone if it is allowed) to tune into and interact with the game being projected. It is a quiz game, and you can either make up your own questions in advance, or use one of the many pre-made games in its game bank. You post a question on the board, and the students use their computer or phone to choose an answer. After the timer is done, it will show the percentage of students who answered correctly. It keeps track of who answers correctly the most, and that person wins at the end of the game. It is compatible with any subject and is a wonderful tool for review before a test. Beware, students tend to get super excited and quite loud when their answers are correct!
Kahoot, Quizizz or Quizlet. These are probably the most popular resources on which even tests can be conducted. From the experience of using Quizizz, the most interesting of all, since there is a spirit of competition and the time limit is only for your students and their knowledge.

I've used Kahoot! and Quizizz for reviews, as well as Boss Battles in Classcraft. The new one that they LOVE (sixth grade) is Blooket. I agree with SandyeN. When they are having fun reviewing, they get super-loud. For more extended problem-solving and critical thinking, I use Breakout EDU.
I used Quizizz. Online games have always been an interesting topic for me and I have always loved playing them. On the page pokiesman.com/free-pokies I recently read information about Free Online Pokies, which I tried to play I really liked and I advise you to try as well.
Why online games? I understand that children are all in gadgets, but it doesn't mean we need to support this to draw their attention.
Kenton- I definitely agree that we should be thoughtful about promoting screen time. One difference is that these games are played in person in the classroom. The technology facilitates the whole group interaction.
The choice of the game depends on how old your students are. You can turn on the screen demonstration and play Disappearing cat together, a milder version of the Hangman game. The teacher draws a cat on a virtual blackboard, comes up with a word, and draws dashes according to the number of letters. Students call the letter. If the letter is present in the world, it is written down. If not, then one part of the cat's body is erased, whiskers, ears, nose, paws, etc. I generally like to play games and even follow the industry news on https://zumroad.com/game. But, unfortunately, it isn't easy to introduce any exciting games within the school curriculum, only educational ones.
Hi! I am building a tool to support discussion at school with the aim of stimulating children to appreciate both sides of a discussion. Particularly relevant for the humanities & social sciences but it is broadly relevant in any setting whereby discussion occurs. Students would be able to contribute to the 'decision tree' and on any topic - such as 'Who is the greatest president of all time?' and the nice visualization would enable students to 1) get a holistic view of a discussion 2) participate in a group activity 3) continue contributing after class Could you let me know if you would find this useful for your classes?
