Does anyone know of good online programs for ESL endorsements to be added to a certificate? University of Phoenix does it but for some reason, the courses are more expensive than the $500/course cost for other continuing teacher ed classes. :-/
How does one DO an on-line ESL endorsement? I would think that WOULD be an endorsement FILLED with face to face/real time and out-in-the-field interactions.
I am looking into this online here in Florida. I found three places where I would pay out of pocket here: http://www.beaconeducator.com/ESOLCourses.asp http://www.nefec.org/services2/page.asp?pageid=58 http://www.cteched.com/events.html You can also do this online at various colleges... My school district offers it too, but the classes are always full! You are supposed to start with one and end with another, but I can never get the first one to let me register.
Hmm... It's nice FL offers all those opportunities!!! McKennaL, the courses can be done online plus hours with ELL students in the classroom (in my case, I'd use my own since I have some bilingual students).
The new school has an onlione ma program in teaching or curriculum development. You can study full or part time.
I know this is an old thread and its been quiet for a few years but I'm waking it up again! If Im not mistaken the cteched that thechangingtabl mentioned you have to be part of a district to get the inservice points....which unfortunately right now I am not
