I know that sounds trite but I look foreward to this break
as it gives me time to catch my breath and also Xmas shop
without preasure ( I go early Monday morning of our first week
off and knock it out quickly with no crowds). Our last three days
are also early release. Kids leave at 11:30 so that gives us
time for a staff party and do grades. Doesnt feel to Christmasy
though as Fla has warmed up again. Kinda rainy, too.
I just hope all here have a nice break and can recharge batteries
to be ready for 07. Just remember even the SMALLEST thing
you do may be huge for a kid. I thank god (Yes, I said the G word)
everyday for the kids I teach and the opportunity to work with
    children.

I'm with you; we are all badly in need of a break as we haven't had a day off since Thanksgiving in early October. My countdown sounds a little different--6 more days to go, all full days. We finish school at 2:35 on the 22nd, but have 2 full weeks off! The rest and recouperation will allow us all to be more effective at our jobs and to appreciate the "little things" more.

Kinda rainy, stephen? It's a deluge today. LOL I am counting the hours. Tomorrow is our last day until 1/3. Good luck with the shopping.

I envy your vacations, but I don't know if I would cut it as a teacher! I'm going to talk to my boss about observing the school holiday schedule since we sell primarily to schools. :D

Today is our last day. We get out at 12:30. I'm so glad because all the kids have been super sick here. We had 7 different kids out in my class alone this week. We had the flu, a stomach virus, and bronchitis going around all at the same time! Well, they gave the flu to me so I have been miserable since Tuesday! I stayed home on Weds. and went to the doctor yesterday, but I had to go to work yesterday...it was party day. The nurse at my doctor's office said it was the worst she's seen since the '90s. Now I can finally have some time to make myself better at least!

Oh my goodness, I was counting the hours, then the minutes. I had to stay late to grade mid-terms, then haul all the holidays gifts and goodies out of there. I got home and got in bed. What a week. Considering, the kids weren't really bad at all, but there was a buzz of excitement that grew and grew as the days went by. Thankfully, I made the decision to make the part really low-key. (Fix your own ice cream sundaes).

I know. We seem to be the only ones around here ending today. I'm glad, though. So many things to do to get ready for Christmas. Hang in there.

Officially on vacation. Go back Jan 2nd for planning day
with kids back on Wed, the third. Rain has stopped up
in N Fla and put up most of the xmas lights today. Even
entered my grades on the computer before I left.
Kids were great for me this week in PE. I will hit the mall
on Monday morning early and be done by 1or so. Been doing that for
    over twenty five years now.

Today I subbed with some party happy teenagers. A couple of them received Teddy Bears as gifts and pretended to have a fist fight with them. They also compared and exchanged outfits. I had to put this down and it was difficult because it was downright funny!
The two districts I work for will be working until the 21st. Anyway I am relaxing and celebrating Hanukkah this weekend and next week I am seeing the Nutcracker with my mother. Terry G.

Enjoy Hanukkah! I went with my mother to see the Nutcracker one year and it was a wonderful boost to our holiday spirits.

I'm done! I so need some downtime. Term reports the last day of November, and two weeks of dress rehearsal for the Christmas musical - just about did me in. Thankfully, school finished yesterday so I'm now holiday until January 8th! WOOHOO!
