When there is one job that you want to go for - how do you get it? I applied online. What else? It would be a transfer in the same district. I hate waiting and I want to take another step.
Are you allowed to contact the principal of the school? Would your current principal put in a good word for you?

I emailed and found out that the interviews will be this week. I have no idea what to expect beyond that.
Could you possibly walk in with a resume to also give the principal? I am going to try that with several principals that I have already emailed.
That i s a tough one because if this is a district transfer there are other protocols that you must follow. I think that beyond emailing the P there is little else that you can do. If you appear too pushy, that could harm your chances for transferring ever. So, sit tight and hope you are one of the interviews that they are granting. Good luck!
