Dear Mr. Wonderful P: The students of Your ISD deserve teachers who create stimulating environments that enhance learning at all ability levels. I am eager to offer my skills, energy, and passion to the Awesome High School team as an English Language Arts teacher for the 2010-2011 school year. Here are three reasons why I know I am the most qualified candidate for this position. I am Highly Qualified by the Texas State Board of Educators. My master’s in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment has provided me with strategies and tools to help ensure all students are successful. My effective teaching practices include differentiating of instruction, using cues, questions, and graphic organizers, and using cooperative learning groups including heterogeneous groupings and jigsaws. Good teachers provide students with a safe learning environment, assist them in their development as citizens, and help them acquire the knowledge and skills they require to become lifelong learners. I have exceeded this standard in the course of my teaching experience through effective classroom management techniques and expectations and by differentiating instruction to meet individual learning styles. Students in my classroom stay organized through the use of interactive notebooks. Interactive notebooks enable students to be creative, independent thinkers and writers. Students keep class notes and other activities and express their own ideas and process the information presented in class through these notebooks. Students use the Reading and Writing Workshop models in order to develop strong reading comprehension and progress into strong writers. The information I have enclosed sheds further light on my instructional abilities and work ethic. If anything more is required, please do not hesitate to contact me at phone number or another number. I look forward to discussing with you in greater detail how my qualifications and attributes meet the needs of the students of Awesome High School. Thank you for taking the time to review my credentials and to consider me for employment. Sincerely, Me website So what do you think?
