I teach 3rd grade and I received my first five-year certificate this year. Since I'm still fairly new in the teaching game this is probably a dumb question, but how many CEUs do I need to take before I renew my license again in five years? I already had my master's degree before I started teaching (if that makes a difference).

You need the equivalent of two graduate courses, or six graduate credit hours, which would be 180 ceu's.

Whatever school you're working in should have it's own LPDC which should have a manual of what's acceptable to use towards your CEU's other than graduate courses.

If you are currently NOT working at a school at all and want to renew your license, you have to have the 6 graduate credit hours.
