So now that I have a job, the school where I did my student teaching for my M.Ed called to offer me an interview. As much as I would love to teach there and how much more money it would be, I feel that I have given my word to the Christian school so I declined the interview. I let them know I was honored they were considering me as a candidate, but that as of such and such date I was under contract. I made sure to mention that I hope they might consider me again in the future. Don't want to burn any bridges!

That's how it always seems to happen! I went months without getting calls for interviews, yet I must have gotten three to four calls from a neighboring county in my first week of work! You will be very happy at your school, and honoring your word shows your character.

I have been getting calls like crazy since I have been under contract. Kinda funny that way. I wish I could send my interviews to others looking on here.

Happened to me also. I was told my contract was not going to be renewed due to budget, so I started with the resumes and interviews. Got a call that I was going to be renewed and I accepted, then got calls for two jobs! It all works out for the best I guess.

My first job.... It happened to me. It took me 10 years to get back into the district. Not because I was actively trying, but because I loved where I was. When I decided to get serious, I was offered a job in the very same year that I applied. Get some experience and you will practically be able to name your school. (LOL. A girl can dream, right?!) Congratulations again on your new position. You will ROCK it out.

I hear this a lot. Once you get one call/offer it seems like you get multiple offers. Sigh!

It may seem like this school would have been better, but I agree with Alice things happen for a reason.

I worked all day in my room and had some time to chat with the principal a bit more today. I feel really good about my job this year and I think it is going to be a great fit for me! I am very happy with my decision not to even consider this other school this late in the game :)

The same thing happened to me today. I got a call for a job in my previous district. I already accepted another position. I am happy with my decision. I know this is the right school for me.
