LOL, those are the stores in my area, so I was typing up my shopping list anyway! I tried to find some for Brookshires, Super 1, Krogers and Albertsons (grocery stores), but they haven't started their school supplies yet. I do think I'm gonna check Michael's and Hobby Lobby though, now that I think about it....

I went to the Michaels in my area and found some really good sales in their clearance. I got those fabric book covers for 50 cents and they also had decorative pencils for 10 cents a piece. I figured I can use the book covers in my treasure box and the pencils as rewards.

Sounds like a good idea to me! I won't be going to Michael's till tomorrow or Thursday, but I'm glad to know about the clearance stuff!

Our kids aren't allowed to use those fabric bookcovers anymore. They wreck our textbooks.

I'm so mad at Wal-Mart right now. Ever since they started that sale with $.10 spirals and $.30 paper, I can't find them. I think 4 teachers walked into the store and took the ENTIRE inventory. I've been checking daily for almost 2 weeks and they have not refilled it.

    bah!

Have you checked throughout the store? Our back to school section is on the complete other side of the store than the normal school section! I only noticed it because of the big crayon signs. I'm still waiting for my Target to get their stuff out. They have some of it, but the dollar bins are just about empty and they don't have their 10 notebooks for 70 cents they usually have:(

I haven't checked the site yet, but in Staples all of the really good deals are "in store only"... groan.

The sharpie deal is $7.77. It is written on the ad that says $1.23 but you have to look a little closer. DRAT!

No Biggie. It's not like I actually got in my car and went. :)

Now I'm going to bed knowing I don't have to plan a detour tomorrow.

The fabric book covers (even the "jumbo" ones), bend the covers and somehow manage to break the spines of the books because they don't quite fit our larger textbooks. The newer textbooks seem to be taller and wider (not necessarily thicker) than the old books.

Office depot also has pencil boxes for 19-cents. Limit 5 but my store let me get 25 of them.

I didn't like the quality of the .19 pencil boxes at Office Depot. Has anyone checked with Walmart to see if they will match the price?

Thanks Pwhatley for letting us know where all those great sales are! I am getting ready to go out right now. Isn't it funny how excited teachers get about school supplies.

We could add that to the "You know you're a teacher when....."

Now I'm off to spend money I don't have. Yipeeeee!

I thought that's what it was too. I got all excited until I went to the store and saw different. But $7.77 is still a good deal!

Nah....I passed it up because technically our school supplies them. I just wanted more color choices and for the dream price, I didn't mind getting them. I'll save my money and spend it elsewhere.

I bought some glue sticks and left them in my car as I ran my other errands. Afterward my husband said my glue sticks probably melted! Eccks! I doubt there will be any lasting harm (Hope). Guess that is what I get for shopping in Phoenix.

Just a question cuz I'm curious. Do you all pay for that stuff or does your school give you a budget?
