Each classroom is assigned a month to showcase that classes work. I seem to always get Oct. I have done... fire safety month (with marble painted "fires") halloween pumpkins with our rhyme I like to use process (or developmental) art. What is your favorite Oct. bulletin board? I was thinking of doing something with their names.
October is when the seasons change... how about something on all the positive changes they're going through?
How about having them mix yellow and red paint to make orange, then cut out pumpkins out of orange. THen the kids can glue on eyes and noses and for a mouth have them write their name with a white crayon on piece of paper cut out in a mouth shape ( like the letters in their name are the teeth)
I made some crayon resist owls last year that turned out great. Another favorite is to make fall leaves teaching the concept of warm colors. Sponge painting trees and adding tissue paper leaves in fall colors also is a great art project.
